Superb cluster villa ?

Unfortunately we were rather disappointed with this villa. The overall cleanliness and maintenance of the property was poor and the decor tired. Having stayed on the same complex two years ago in a similar property which was outstanding, this one does not compare. Although this villa is very well equipped we would not class it as being in the luxury catergory.
The photos on this site are misleading too. One example is that the furniture in the sun room has been replaced by three old chairs.
On a more positive note, the villa stands in a lovely setting with beautiful views and makes for a very relaxing holiday.
Owner's Response: Having just started renting out this year naturally I take all comments very seriously, and will certainly try to ensure all justified criticism is rectified. However, I am surprised by this clients response, as all other seven renters so far have had nothing but praise for the apartment, the furnishings and the location. The initial problem was caused by the late departure of the previous clients, so my cleaner had only just finished when the new ones arrived, but she also went there the next day to ensure all was to the clients satisfaction and put away some spare sheets that had been drying in the utility area.
I only live round the corner, so when I heard about this potential problem I phoned up the clients to see if I could do anything, but was assured everything was OK, apart from a small leak leading to the cystern in the upstairs cloakroom. I arranged for the plumber to come and he contacted the tenants the next day. I assume this is what is meant by poor maintenance, but these things can happen at any time to any property when being constantly used by tenants. Incidentally the plumber made two appointments but the clients were not there at the agreed time, but the problem has now been sorted before it became a major one.
I have also bought new a washing machine and dishwasher for the apartment since June, and would happily have replaced the "old chairs" in the sun room had the tenant mentioned this when I gave him the opportunity to tell me of any complaints. The sun room is unique by the way, as it is an additional covered space that is not in any other properties at Vila Golfemar. Being west facing, it gets so hot in August afternoons if tenants leave the three sliding doors closed and the venetian blinds up, that the furniture gets faded and damaged. Hence the ones in the photos have been replaced, but by equally comfortable chairs.
Finally the apartment was decorated throughout just before the summer season, and any marks must have happened recently. All the other decor is exactly as featured in the photographs, so whilst nothing is to everybody's taste, I can assure future potential clients that 9 out of the 10 families who have been there have been completely satisfied, as can be seen in the visitors book at the apartment. Having said that No.47 is fully booked up from now until the end of March 2010 and I am not sure what I doing next year yet, so all this may be irrelevent!
