Locality:-:
The beautiful and ancient town of Tavira is the main local area of activity, it has many bars, restaurants, cafes and shops. Tavira still remains unspoilt and is not 'too touristy'
The restaurants in Tavira are of a very high standard and, offer a variety of cuisines from, the local dishes 'like Mama makes' to more western European dishes, obviously there are the highest quality fish restaurants here too.
The nearby fishing Villages of Cabanas and, our favourite- Santa Luzia also offer a good alternatives to Tavira, with fantastic choices of bars and restaurants, Santa Luzia is an absolute must do night out!(15 euros taxi from villa)
There is a water park at Loule, and there is Zoomarine at Guia, this is a fantastic day out for the whole family with, dolphin and seal shows to delight everyone, there is also falconry and, many birds and animals in fantastic surroundings.
The Historic City of Seville is approx 2 hrs drive along the A22 Motorway, well worth a visit.

This area is right in the Heart of The Ria Formosa Nature reserve, an area of Marsh and Wetlands, the Lagoons are full of fish and wildlife.
Beaches here are some of the best Beaches in the World, Soft White Sand gently sloping into the Ocean, Most are Island Beaches that can be easily reached by small cheap Ferries or, Water Taxis, this adds to the Romantic feel of this area by providing a cooling little lagoon trip to and from the Beautiful Beaches.
Bird watching here is very popular with many rare, Native and, Migratory Birds.
The area is also home to many rare plant species such as Orchids etc.
Golf:
Golf in this area is cheaper than in the west of the Algarve, though the courses to the west are easily accessible in around 30 Minutes along the nearby A22 Motorway.
In the East, Courses are not as busy, Nearest Golf is Benamor 10 minutes away, and two other championship courses a further 5 minutes along the same road at Quinta da Cima and Quinta da Ria.
Another course well worth a visit is Castro Marim on the border with Spain (20 minutes drive) Take advantage of the deals including a buggy here, 'some Friends and I tried to walk it in the summer and it wasn't a good idea'!
