Photos and Description of this Domme holiday house A fully refurbished house 5 minutes walk from Domme, sleeps 10 in 5 bedrooms.

'Castarnou' is a traditional house with massive stone walls and its own private pool, just outside the fortifications of the medieval village of Domme - officially classified as 'one of the most beautiful villages of France. You can walk to its shops, bars and restaurants. Being on the side of the hill and facing south the views across the countryside are magnificent. The spacious rooms are elegantly furnished in traditional style providing 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Three of the bedrooms have access to a balcony. In addition there is a games room with table tennis, pool, football and darts. The garden consists of a series of terraces and rocky cliffs (all fenced!). There is a large library of books and videos/DVD as well as satellite TV. The kitchen is particularly fully equipped. The River Dordogne is nearby for canoeing, etc. and the wonderful medieval city of Sarlat is 12km 12 minutes drive away.

This is the most exciting area of the Dordogne. The river runs through spectacular cliffs and gorges with exciting canoeing. Many caves (Domme has its own!), prehistoric sites, castles and chateaux are nearby as well as beautiful villages, fascinating markets and great restaurants. There are many activities for children including high level rope courses, riding or just swimming in you own pool. You will never be short of things to do!

Notes: The kitchen is liberally equipped to cook for dinner parties with ample crockery, etc and a modern 7 burner dual fuel range cooker. There are two large fridge-freezers. The dining table in the kitchen seats 10 and there is a smaller dining table in the living room. The large terrace has a dining table with 10 chairs for AL fresco meals. In addition there is a smaller outside dining table seating six on a lower terrace area. The house has a games room with table tennis, pool, football game and darts.
