La Bergerie retains the charm of beams and original stone walls whilst providing modern and stylish accommodation. With a luxury hydrajet shower and fully equipped kitchen everything you need is provided. The large sofa-bed converts into a generous single bed and the double bedroom is light and airy. UK TV channels are provided and there is a DVD/CD player. Wi-fi access is available should you wish to bring a laptop/internet mobile phone. Moricq has a boulangerie, a bar and a supermarket and the larger town of Angles is a pleasant walk or short car-ride away. Angles has a range of shops and services as well as twice-weekly summer markets and regular outdoor entertainment.

Angles is a vibrant market town with bars, shops and restaurants. During the summer there are twice-weekly markets and regular evening entertainment such as live bands, a circus, theatre productions, 'Moules Frites' (mussels and chips) evenings and outdoor dances. Angles also has a large brocante (antique shop) and on the show ground there are regular car-boot and antique fairs. La Bergerie is in Moricq, part of Angles with its own supermarket, bar and boulangerie. Also in Moricq there is a fifteenth century tower which used to be part of the sea defence for the area. Guided visits of the tower run throughout the summer.

The area: The Vendée has a microclimate which means that the area enjoys up to 2600 hours of sunshine a year. This is almost as many as the south of France and almost twice as many as London! Well-established as a tourist area you will find activities to suit all of the family. From a castle in Talmont-St-Hilaire and a tower in Moricq to a zoo in Les Sables d'Olonne there really is something for everyone. All towns have local produce markets, wonderful opportunities to try local specialities and soak up some of the friendly Vendéen atmosphere. The summer also sees the area hosting many music festivals and watersport competitions. Every four years the world famous Vendée globe race sets off from Les Sables d'Olonne and the Vendée is regularly featured in the itinerary for the Tour de France cycle race.

Situated in the southern reaches of the Loire valley, the Vendée has four main wine-producing areas : Brem-sur-Mer, Vix, Pissotte and Mareuil-sur-Lay. Visits and tastings can be arranged and most restaurants stock local wines for you to enjoy. For history buffs l'Historial de la Vendée is the place to visit. Telling the long history of the area from pre-historic times to the present day there is also a simulated helicopter ride over the Vendée, exciting for visitors of all ages. Slightly further afield are the leisure parks of Futuroscope and Puy de Fou both 'must-sees' for the family. For bargain-hunters, Cholet has a designer outlet - Marques Avenue with many popular labels at reduced prices.

100% recommended and would certainly go back.The description ...La Bergerie retains the charm of beams and original stone walls whilst providing modern and stylish accommodation....is perfect for the property.

The setting and location of La Bergerie is wonderfull. Surrounded by glorious fields, only 10 - 15 mins drive away from some great Vendee beaches (great surfing) and restaurants in La Tranche Sur Mer.Less than 5 mins drive from a local supermarket. In fact its well positioned in the Vendee region with easy access to main motorways and main roads. Less than an hours drive from La Rochelle which is worth a visit.

The Bergerie was a itself was very clean and well maintained. Great shower...just what one needs after a hard day of relaxing!! All the mod cons one would need are there. Just a perfect place to chill out.

A big thanks to the owners Cheryl and Jonathan who made us feel very welcome.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

Great location, facilities and accommodation.

You have the balance right between looking after your guests but making it feel like we are separate. Great location, facilities and accommodation and the outdoor space is great for the BBQ and sunbathing. We had a great stay again and hope to see you next year.

A fantastic base!

La Bergerie was a fantastic base for our holiday in the Vendée. Small but well-equipped with a beautiful outside area and garden. With everything we needed just a short drive away, the gite was a lovely, peaceful location to return to. A great stay!
