Local Amenities: The Villa is conveniently located 5 minutes walk to the local village with a huge range of restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and pockets. These include Spanish, English, Italian, Chinese, Indian, Argentinian, German, Austrian, Norwegian, and Mexican. There is also a supermarket for everyday provisions, banking facilities, a pharmacy and doctors surgery along with other boutiques. For the fitness fanatics, there is a well equipped local gym with a variety of class for motivation. What can be fun is attending one of the local daily markets to pick up a bargain or two. At the village there is a bus service that will take you to local beaches and on into the main Town of Torrivieja. Taxi are readily available, regulated, metered and offer reasonable rates to get around. It is best to hire cars from the airport. For Golfers: Golf Information: The Viila is ideally situated for the Golfer, with 4 courses within a 10 minute drive. La Romero is the most established of the 4 courses .The others being, Roda,Campoamor and Las Ramblas. The large Clubhouse terrace at Roda, which over looks a grassed lounging area and garden is open to all. The other courses within a ten minute drive. Las Ramblas is very steep with lots of rocky canyons to lose your balls in, and may not be suitable for everybody. Campoamor is very different, a nice lush undulating green golf course with a five star clubhouse on top of the hill, a fabulous terrace and restaurant with great views. There is a further selection of great golf courses within a half hour drive including La Finca and La Manga.
Beaches: Most of the local beaches are 'Blue Flag', which means that their cleanliness and water condition are regularly monitored and kept up to a very high standard. The nearest is a nice mix of lovely soft sandy bay with loungers and sun shades to hire, a beach bar for cold beers and snacks, rock pools for the kids to explore, a life guard station and a bar/restaurant overlooking all. There are quite a few other seaside areas within fifteen minutes drive ranging from small rocky coves to a marina and restaurants at Campoamor.Immediately to the North of Torreveija Town, which has a very large marina and two beaches, is Guadamar. This is the beginning of more than ten miles of wide flat sandy beach that seems to go all the way to Alicante. According to the World Health Organisation this area of the Costa Blanca has got the healthiest climate in Europe, and is one of the healthiest places in the world to live. Asthma and rheumatism sufferers will notice the benefit.
