Situated 3km from beautiful sandy beaches and also within the Marais Poitevin nature reserve, La Maison de Soleil provides every comfort for up to 6 guests. Newly refurbished for 2007 there are 2 spacious bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) and a large living room with a sofabed; elegant tub chairs; UK TV and DVD/CD facilities. To avoid wasting precious holiday time there is a dishwasher and washing machine in the fully-equipped kitchen. The house has a large, private and south-facing garden for the sole use of La Maison de Soleil. Longeville-sur-Mer is a pretty Vendéen town with restaurants, bars and a range of shops all within easy walking distance.

La Maison de Soleil is situated in Longeville-sur-Mer which boasts twice-weekly markets and a range of shops and restaurants. The south Vendee coast has many attractions ranging from walks, vineyards, chateaux, dedicated cycle tracks, museums, sea-life centres, not forgetting the all-important beaches and sea! Every summer there are numerous music festivals and watersport festivals.The Vendée has a microclimate which means that the area enjoys up to 2600 hours of sunshine a year. This is almost as many as the south of France and almost twice as many as London! Well-established as a tourist area you will find activities to suit all of the family. From a castle in Talmont-St-Hilaire and a tower in Moricq to a zoo in Les Sables d'Olonne there really is something for everyone. All towns have local produce markets, wonderful opportunities to try local specialities and soak up some of the friendly Vendéen atmosphere. The summer also sees the area hosting many music festivals and watersport.

The Vendée: Situated in the southern reaches of the Loire valley, the Vendée has four main wine-producing areas : Brem-sur-Mer, Vix, Pissotte and Mareuil-sur-Lay. Perfect house and location!

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is perfect for dogs with the secure large garden and ideally situated for long walks on the beach. Have recommended it to friends and will certainly be returning in the future. Cheryl made us feel very welcome and the bar/restaurant within walking distance has lovely food and friendly staff.

The house was excellent and far bigger than we imagined. The very tall ceilings and large windows provided spacious and light / airy rooms. It had all the facilities you could wish for and all was in perfect working order. The accommodation was spotlessly clean. The location was ideal because it was in a quiet road yet in the centre of the village / town and you could still walk to a beautiful beach. We always felt safe and would definitely recommend this property to family and friends. It is a particularly ideal location for adults and children alike that like to cycle everywhere along carefully designated cycle routes away from what very little traffic there is.

We stayed at La Maison de Soleil end of August beginning of Sept 2009. First time we have managed a holiday via internet. Have to say the Owner's Cheryl and Jonathon kept us up to speed every inch of the way and gave us the confidence to look forward to a great stay in fance. We were not disappointed. The house is really nice, very spacious with almost every thing you need to hand - much better than the photo's dipicted- We spent a lot of our stay in on the loungers in the garden as the weather was really good, although the garden does need some asthetic work, But hey a few vin de blanc's and it did not matter. Our stay was for 10 nights, Cheryl kindly came mid time and changed all the bed, bath and kitchen linen which was great. It made it much easier for us to enjoy our holiday. The village and surounding area is truly beautiful, quiet and peaceful a perfect get away from the Rat Race holiday. We will definitely reccommend looking at Cheryl and Jonathons properties for your holiday. We certainly will be doing next year.

Fantastic Family holiday in the Vendee

The house is perfectly situated within the small town of Longeville sur mer, an easy stroll to the twice weekly market or to buy bread. There is a supermarket 2 minutes drive away which stocks everything you could possibly need for your holiday. The house is immaculate with comfortable beds and plenty of space for the whole family to spend time together and apart. The kitchen is well equipped and the washing machine and rotary clotesline in the garden are a real bonus. Outside the garden has plenty of space for games and the deck provides an ideal location to sit and enjoy a drink in the evening while barbecuing the evening meal. The owners were helpful and friendly and extremely approachable should there have been an issue, not that there was. The towels and bed linen were all good quality and changed mid way through the stay by the owner.
The beach at Le Rocher is less than 10 minutes drive away, with plenty of free parking and is very family friendly, with clean sand, supervised bathing and excellent waves for body boarding. The zoo at La Sable d'Ollone was a fun day out for the children with all the animals actually making an appearance. The Chateau just outside Avrille has an excellent adventure trail round it where the children have to solve riddles, which are in English as well as French and German, and can claim a prize at the end if they have solved the them correctly.
We would recommend the property to anyone looking to visit the area and would definitely consider staying there again were we to return to that area of France.

Spacious house in a friendly town.

A lovely, comfortable house with ample room for family groups. From the photo's it is hard to appreciate the spaciousness of the rooms. Very conveniently located within walking distance of supermarket, local shops and bakeries in Longeville-sur-Mer. Situated in a quiet rural community. The main restaurant provides excellent food with good service. Wi-Fi connections available at the local bar.
Local long, safe sandy beaches close by with lifeguard supervision on many strectches.Convenient road links to many places of interest on the coast or inland.
Cheryl gave us a very friendly welcome and was most helpful. We are more than happy to recommend the property to other visitors.
