Marblers was built around the mid 1800’s by the Blogg Family. The present owners keen to retain the character of the cottage have used the services of local craftsmen (who happen to be related to the original owners) to add Purbeck stone window seats and retain the beautiful fireplaces that make this home so cosy.Acton is a small hamlet of traditional cottages many of which were originally built for the local quarryman. It also lies at the centre of a network of footpaths including the South West Coast path. Guests can literally walk from the cottage door out into the Purbeck countryside, through green fields surrounded by traditional dry stonewalls down to Dancing Ledge or St Aldhems Head. Alternatively the seaside town of Swanage with shops, supermarkets and steam railway is only 2 miles away.
