Our house is situated on a little pedestrian lane in the heart of the historic centre of Barjac. You will find here a quiet and soothing atmosphere. Barjac is located high on a hill top, in the department of the Gard Provençal and offers sweeping views of a green valley covered with vineyards and olive groves and the Cévennes mountains (nature reserve). Ideally situated to explore the surroundings. A lot of possibilities for outdoor sports. The Mediterranean landscape is crossed by rivers, the famous 'Gorges de l'Ardèche' are nearby, the historic cities of Avignon, Nîmes, Orange and Uzès lie a short distance away. For a day trip, the Mediterranean coast itself is not far. The apartment is reached by an impressive staircase. During the summer the temperature in the apartments stays very comfortable because of the very thick walls of the house. On the first floor there is a little courtyard with a barbecue. On the ground floor there is a restful space with information regarding sigh.

Comfortable, cosy and spacious apartment in our renovated house in the historic village Barjac. Bathroom with bath, bedroom with quality bed 160x200, wood stove, fully equiped kitchen. Wifi internet, little courtyard with barbeque. All facilities nearby, grocery shop, bakery etc, biological shop, restaurants. Thanks to a lovely microclimate (300 days sunshine a year) in this part of France, hiking and other outdoor sports are great activities to do, during spring and autumn. We have a lot of experience with hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking in the area. Detailed maps and guides are available in our house, we will, of course, be prepared to furnish you with all the details you would like for planning your trips. We have descriptions of walks with swimming possibilities in the Ardèche, Cèze or Chassezac river. The tourist office in Barjac has maps for hiking around Barjac. Possibility to participate in hiking-tours with a professional guide in the Cévennes, Ardèche
