'We’ve had the most brilliant time during our stay in this fantastic house.' (Visitor comment.) FULL SKY TV PACKAGE, PHONE, BROADBAND, TOWELS, DOGS - ALL FREE In an elevated position, this light and airy house provides a luxury rural retreat with spectacular views to Windermere and the high fells - yet it's just 20 minutes from the M6 and close to the Lakes District's top attractions. Beautifully refurbished and with no neighbours, it offers style, space, comfort and complete privacy. The stunning triple-aspect sitting room boasts a huge picture window at one end and an open fire at the other, with plenty of big comfy sofas so you can enjoy the view whatever the weather. A smaller second sitting room also has a working fireplace and fabulous views. There's lots of books and games too. Outside are 5 acres of land with an abundance of wildlife, and lawned garden areas with mini climbing frame and slide. A large, sunny courtyard is a great place to enjoy a barbecue.

From there it’s a quick and easy drive to Grasmere, Ambleside and Beatrix Potter country. The farmhouse is only a mile from a convenience store and two inns - one of which has a health and beauty spa with swimming pool. There’s also a slipway nearby to launch your boat on Windermere! The little towns of Ulverston (with a Thursday market), Grange-over-Sands and Cartmel are a short drive away with excellent pubs, restaurants and great food shops selling local produce.     Friday changeover, except for Christmas/New Year. Christmas week 2010 will start Thursday 23 December, New Year week will start on Thursday 30 December. We are flexible on this - just want to make it practical and relaxing for you.

    Deposit of one third required, with the balance not later than four weeks before your break. A refundable damages deposit of £100 is also required.

    Although we don't normally do weekends between April and September, they can be arranged within two or three weeks of an empty rental week.

A second, smaller sitting room also has an open fire, sofa bed and desk with broadband access. There is a spacious dining room with farmhouse table and seating for 10, next to a large, contemporary style kitchen, with a stunning vaulted ceiling - with laundry room and downstairs toilet and shower room off. Upstairs are four double bedrooms, one en-suite and a luxury family bathroom. Three of the bedrooms have fabulous views over the fells, the other looks over the courtyard and garden. Outside are lawned areas with great views. They include a play area for children with a mini climbing frame with slide. The house provides parking for up to six cars. There is easy access and manoeuvrability for a boat trailer.
