Founded in the 4th Century BC, Antibes is today the 3rd largest city on the French Riviera, and certainly the nicest one!
The imposing Fort Carré is protecting the entrance of the 'Port Vauban' harbour, where the most luxurious yachts are moored. Next to the harbour, the old town is one of the most charming and typical area of the coast to wander about, with the typical ambience of its pedestrian little streets which lead to the very lively and popular Provencal market selling local products.
Encircling the old town from the sea front, medieval ramparts lead up to the Grimaldi castle (better known today as the Picasso Museum), from which you will enjoy a magnificent view over the whole bay of Nice, with the French Alps in the background.
There is a wonderful atmosphere all year round in Antibes, with a particularly entertaining ambience in the summer season when the town attracts numerous visitors from all over the world.
