It is an ideal base for touring, bird watching and cycling with the Tarka Trail nearby. There are a number of good golf courses in the area and course fishing at the lakes of Stafford Moor are within 10 minutes car ride
To the North there are stunning beaches at Woolacombe and Sandymouth. and futher along the coast Bideford and Westward Hoe. To the south is the open moor land of Dartmoor National Park and its wild ponies. the Eden Project is within two hours ride. Exmoor to the north for picnics.
