Photos and Description of this Asti holiday house 3 bedroom restored house in the historic centre of a typical Italian village

Casa Regina is a newly renovated house in the “centro storico” (historic centre) of Refrancore, a small village 12 kilometres from Asti and 1 kilometre from our B&B, Cascina Valgranocchio. The house is on the 'strada di vino', the tourist road map for visiting the wine area's of Piedmonte. The house is very old, and has 4 floors, starting with the underground cantina (fully stocked with local wines), which has lovely old domed brick ceilings, and brick walls. The ground floor is a open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge with a wood burning fire. The first floor has a large double bedroom with a private bathroom. A corridor leading to the next floor, which has a large double bedroom and private bathroom. Perfect for 1 or 2 couples or a family. It is fully furnished with period pieces, with all kitchen appliances, sheets, towels etc, all you will need to bring is your clothes and personal effects. There is private parking in the courtyard at the rear of the house.

The house is right in the heart of Refrancore. Refrancore is small, about 1200 people, but is what I call a”live” village, it is not like many of the nearly deserted villages in the area. It has 2 bars, a chemist shop, greengrocer, paper shop, bank, 2 hairdressers, hardware store, supermarket, butcher, delicatessen, pastry shop, and a few others. It also has 3 restaurants in the village, and many others in the area. We are 12 K from Asti, about a 100 K from Milano, and 50 K from Torino, and 100 K from Genova, all with international airports. The house is within easy day trips to the Cinque Terre, Lago (Lake) Maggiore, Lago d’Orta, the Italian Riveria, Portofino, San Remo, Lago Como, and the famous wine area's of Barolo, Barbaresco, etc. In 2006, Torino hosted the Winter Olympics, we are less than hour away from where many of the events were held, and within easy reach of the ski fields. We also organise wine tasting tours, and tours of the local villages.
