The delights of outdoor activities are literally outside your window. The spectacular forest and Loch offer a wide range of opportunities for you to enjoy. Dalavich is also central to the many and varied attractions in Argyll, such as The Avich falls, Invarary Castle, Oban and its famous distillery.

The cabin is located by the shores of Loch Awe which is 25 Miles (41 km) long set in the wonderful Dalavich Oakwood. There are walks between Inverinan and Ford. For an easy stroll follow the trail to discover the history and future of this ancient woodland. Stretch your legs a bit more on the Timber Walk and see some of the biggest trees around Loch Awe. For the energetic there is the Loch Avich Walk where you can see the impressive Dalavich Falls. Close by is Ben Cruachan which is a 1126 m mountain that is the highest point in Argyll. It gives its name to a pumped-storage hydroelectric power station located in a cavern inside the mountain. Oban town centre has a large selection of well known shops, restaurants, pubs, cinema, leisure centre, night life and famous distillery. From Oban you can catch a ferry to the many islands on the west coast including Mull, Lorn and Coll. Visit Tobermory the setting for the well known children's TV show Balamory.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Short breaks (minimum of three nights) are available, subject to cabin availability and time of year. Prices start from £55 per night. One well behaved dog can be accommodated subject to an additional payment of £30 per week and £20 per short break.
  • This cabin is strictly NO SMOKING.
    A non-refundable deposit of £100 per cabin per week, plus the charge for any cancellation and breakage.
    The balance is due 8 weeks prior to the start of your stay. If your booking is made within 8 weeks of the start of your stay full payment is required when booking.

    Cheques can only be accepted at least 15 days prior to the start of your holiday.
  • We can only accept bookings where there is at least one person aged 18 years or over per cabin.

Notes: Our accommodation is very spacious compared to other cabins. It has been recently extended and modernised with a modern fully equipped kitchen. The shower and WC area has been extended, a double bedroom has been added to the cabin. A comfortable sofa bed can be used for a third person. It has full electric heating, hot towel rail and underfloor heating in the shower room, electric shower, TV, Satellite and DVD player.

Free fishing: Free fishing is permitted from designated areas from the shore. Fishing permits and boat hire is available from the village. Bicycle hire is available from the village shop. There are a whole range of facilities close at hand in the village. There are miles of beautiful forestry commission trails and walks.

Local club: The Dalavich community Centre bar is open 7 nights a week. Membership is only £1 per night or £4 per week. It has a fully stocked bar, Sky TV, Pool table and occasionally live entertainment. Food is also available some evenings. A self service launderette is attached to the Community Centre.

Horse riding: Horse riding is available at the Ardfern Riding Centre, Craobh Haven, by Lochgilphead Argyll.
