General situation:
Flic en Flac is in the district of BLACK RIVER on the West coast of Mauritius and about 45 minutes drive from the capital city of Port Louis. The west coast is reputed for its dry, warm and stable climate with a temperature range of 18 to 32 degrees. A T shirt is all you need in summer and a sweatshirt or something warmer is necessary for winter evenings.
Flic en Flac has expanded from a seaside village into a busy tourist resort providing a whole range of services such as internet cafe, beauty spa, bank with ATM, Post office, pharmacy, laundry, bars and restaurants specialized in Indian, Chinese, Italian and local cuisine, excursion, tour operators, car and cycle hire and in the Spar Shopping centre, famous branded textile boutiques such as Baobab company, Café Coton, Billabong, Ripcurl etc, a casino, night-club and more restaurants. This complex is 3 minutes walk from the apartment.
The beach:
The natural beach of Flic en Flac at 3 Km long is one of the longest beaches of Mauritius. Just 5 minutes walk from the apartment, with soft white sand it was voted the fourth best beach of the world. The beach is ideal for children as it slopes gently into the warm Indian Ocean and there is the most marvellous snorkeling area which is protected by the reef. You can view brightly colored fish and fantastic corals as you float in the warm sea.
Flic en Flac is also a scuba diver’s dream for those who are overwhelmed by caves and wrecks. The region counts as much as 4 diving centers; the nearest ‘Villa Caroline Diving Center’ just 5 minutes walk from the apartment offers diving lessons by fully qualified instructors. All dives are offered from beginners to experts including deep dives, reef dives, wreck dives and night dives. Marvelous coral gardens can be found at a depth of 20 meters.

Grande Riviere Noire is renowned for big game fishing - blue or black Marlin, shark, bonito, barracuda, yellow-fin tuna and skipjack tuna, emperor and becune. The best season is between November and May.
For a unique experience try swimming with the dolphins in their natural environment. All or half day excusions by catamaran to l'Ile aux Bénitiers should not be missed.
