AMARAS is located on the beautiful Mediterranean coast in the south east of Sicily, province of Syracuse (20 minutes distance). It takes only 40' to get to Catania Fontanarossa airport. Still you can reach Palermo in the west in 3 hours, white sandy beaches in 40', excursions to volcano Etna in 60'. Close to the the town the old fisherman village of BRUCOLI with restaurants and pubs, the best place for a late drink. In the town of Augusta the svevian castle, via Principe Umberto with its shops (Monday to Saturday 10-13, 17-20) and the several churches. Half day trips: SYRACUSE (artistical city founded by Greeks), CATANIA, TAORMINA, NOTO (baroque), VENDICARIi (Unesco natural reserve) Full day trips: LAGHETTI di AVOLA (small lake district-natural reserve), PANTALICA (historical/natural trip), VOLCANO ETNA, PIAZZA ARMERINA (Roman mosaics), LA VALLE DEI TEMPLI
