A charming traditional looking house which is fully modernised on edge of the picturesque village of Sao Luis close to all local amenities. Accommodation includes: large lounge with feature wood-burning stove; dining kitchen with cooker, washing machine, fridge-freezer and table/chairs. Fully tiled bathroom with shower over bath (full sized), wc and bidet. Two double bedrooms with fitted wardrobes. Outer courtyard area leading to large sun terrace/small garden and annexe building self contained extra double bedroom with en-suite including separate corner shower marble-topped vanity sink and wc. Sun terrace enjoys views over Parque Natural/ Serra Do Cercal. Restaurants, bars/cafes, bank with ATM, post office, market, supermarket, bakery all within a short stroll in the pretty and friendly town.

Sao Luis is situated in the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejo e Costa Vicentina which extends from Sines in the north to Sagres in the Algarve. The park protects this beautiful and largely unspoilt landscape; providing opportunities for a wide range of outdoor activities: walking, surfing, cycling, horse riding. Beaches: You can choose between the quiet beaches, without any development, where you have to take your own picnic, and share large areas of soft, white sand with only a few locals, or head for the more visited coastal towns like Zambujeira do Mar and Vila Nova de Milfontes. Here are a wide variety of bars and fantastic fish restaurants, as well as little craft shops for souvenirs etc. Ideal for swimming are the river beaches on the mouth of the Mira at Vila Nova de Milfontes, which are sectioned off and are warm, shallow and safe. Or take a short voyage up the river on a viking-style brightly-painted boat, ideal for spotting the local rare birds and other wildlife.

Actvities: There are extensive paths for walking in the hills around the village, horse-riding is available just a ten minute stroll from the centre. Jeep safaris, kayaking, mountain biking and many other adventure activiites are available in Milfontes where there are surf schools and shops plus all fishing requirements/shops/licences (very cheap) etc. Paragliding at a school on the way to Milfontes (not all year round)

Cultural/Music festivals: Many baillies (local dances) are held throughout the seasons on festa days in all the small towns and villages. In addition there are live Jazz performances every Friday evening in June at Odemira (20 min drive) in the little park - Fonte Ferrea which are free - while away the warm evenings listening to brilliant musicians wining and/or dining in the pretty restaurant under the stars. In July the World Music Festival is held in Sines (less than an hour's drive north) - many performances on the beach are free others - in the castle are at a reasonable cost and really wonderful experiences; the atmosphere is very chilled and highly enjoyable. The famous Sud-Oeste music festival is held in August every year at Zambujeira Do Mar - 30 min drive.
