Ample car parking, old watchtower (not part of rental), quiet surroundings and splendid views. Large living cum dining room, kitchen, guest WC, Suite of double bedroom, bathroom and dressing room. First floor:with small office and PC with high speed internet (WiFi throughout), 2 double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. Outdoor barbecue/fireplace with charcoal and firewood supplied. Fully fitted kitchen with oven, hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, basic food supplies. Living room with flat screen TV, Sky box/ French terrestrial ch, DVD, Stereo w CD's, Books and Magazines. The villa stands in the hills above Isle sur la Sorgue, the Venice of Provence which is the heart of the antiques trade in the South of France. The town used to be a centre for silk production and many working waterwheels remain from that era. A lively market takes places every Thursday and Sunday. Restaurants can be found for fine French dining or a simple lunch on a terrace by the river. The Luberon valley with its charming villages is on the doorstep, just a short drive away. Visit the castle of the Marquis de Sade in Lacoste and the enchanting Menerbes, Bonnieux and Gordes. Avignon, seat of the pope in the 13th century boasts a lively Arts festival in the summer and offers a gateway into the famous wine regions like Chateauneuf de Pape. Aix-en-Provence, Arles, St.Remy and the Camarque are all easily accessible with Marseille and the Mediterranean coast an hours drive from Isle.

What a place....

...in the Vaucluse ! The property was spotless and very well equipped, even food and drinks for a couple of days were supplied - handy as we arrived late and the supermarket closes at 8. The house has plenty of space inside and out, comfortable and tasteful furniture, an extensive library and all modern entertainment gadgets. The owners are friendly and accommodating people and were very flexible in meeting our needs (late arrival/early departure). Their description of the property is accurate.

A car is essential as the house is situated in a secluded spot up in the hills above Isle sur Sorgue which offers plenty of good restaurants, shops and markets. The whole town has a very charming atmosphere.

The place is ideal for excursions into the Luberon and down to the coast but also just to relax on site or for walks in the surrounding hills.

Highly recommendable !
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Quiet getaway

Property was clean and as described.
Weather was hot (30degC+) and sunny every day.
Very quiet for getaway from it all in the vaucluse.
Town at bottom of hill is idilic with lovely river and old town for easy strolling in the evening and eating out at a large choice of venues. All catered very well for young children.
Wine tasting in Vaqueras and Chatea-neuf-du-pape very close.
Mont Ventoux v close too for fit cyclists.
Property could do with more comfortable outside space for lounging in the sun/shade.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children
