A typical Tuscan townhouse in rustic style for rent situated in a quiet and easily accessed part of Lucca historic center, right by the walls. The vacation house consists of: Ground floor-spacious living room (TV + DVD) with access to outside space (laundry and bathroom) and a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom; First floor- kitchen with fireplace and an access to a beautiful balcony for dining AL-fresco (oven, dishwasher, microwave, 4 ring stove), 1 twin/double room with private bathroom (shower), 1 double bedroom, 1 single bedroom /studio with private bathroom (bathtub/shower). On the staircase is a toilet, a typical Tuscan-style mezzanine WC.

The Lucca townhouse is situated in a quiet part inside the walled city, just 50 m. from the wall it self. Lucca has been called the lost jewel of Tuscany. It is still a relatively uncrowded city with many one-of-a-kind shops, good restaurants and beautiful buildings at every turn. It is a city of bicycles and small streets with interesting shops and enotecas. The 4.2 km round walls are an absolute 'must do' in any form be it biking, walking, rollerblading or running. From Lucca there are frequent train and bus services to Florence, Pisa and the beach making Lucca a very desirable base for exploring this area of Tuscany. Not to mention the beautiful Garfagnana area north of the city where the mountains are covered with wild forests, hiking trails, beautiful scenery, marble mines and small villages with local trattorias and bars. There are numerous very good restaurants in the neighborhood to the house and the best pizza place of Lucca is just 200 m away.

Notes: The kitchen is not very big in the vacation house and during the summer the main place to dine is outside on the balcony, making the balcony like an extension to the kitchen. In the colder months eating in the kitchen can be rather crowded so eating out is recommended. The sitting room is on the ground floor and tends not to be used much. The house is very lightly furnished and easy to use and enjoy.

Perfect townhouse for a Lucca vacation

What a lovely house! It was exactly as described, simply and stylishly furnished, plenty of room, wonderful deck off the kitchen where we drank wine and played cards everynight after dinner. The house is just a couple of blocks from the wall, not at all a toursity area, easy walk to good restaurants and several places for good cappucino (a high priority!). The owners are friendly, easy to deal with and very helpful with recommendations. Best suggestion: dinner at Ammodonostro, right around the corner from the house. Great food, lovely place, nice owners. I already miss Lucca!

A great house in a great region

We just got back after a great time in Tuscany. This house is located within the walls of Lucca, a definite plus. You can walk all over the city, to all those nice coffee houses and restaurants. You can also walk the entire city wall in an hour, it´s 3 miles and a very nice evening walk. Everything in Lucca is a short walk, but if you have a car you can also take day trips to many interesting sites in this region that is beyond beautiful.

The house is very nice and clean, spacious bedrooms and the balcony is great, I think we had all our meals out there.

Last but not least, the owners were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.

Nice house in a good location

We spent a week in this property in june 2008
Good location, Close to everything within the city walls.
Property was clean and well mainteined, has everything you need.
The balcony gives this property an unique feature, very nice.

20 min drive to Pisa, 30 min to beach , close to the hills => very varied locations all within a short distance.
