Apartment Thym is located in a lovely ancient Minervois village in the heart of the wine-growing Languedoc region. Set in the grounds of Logis Château de Siran, our guests can enjoy use of the hotel pool (scheduled to open in June 2009) and the gourmet restaurant. Those allergic to chlorine will be pleased to know that the pool is natural and cleaned with biological filters and plants. The area offers an unbeatable combination of sun, sea and sipping with a gorgeous terrace overlooking the vineyards, easy access to the beaches in Narbonne and the opportunity to sample fantastic wine that you won’t find in your local supermarket! Bursting with character, the apartment has exposed stone walls and high beamed ceilings. A recently completed conversion provides up to date facilities including a fabulous kitchen and bathroom. There are two bedrooms, one King and one twin with top quality mattresses. Sleeps up to 6 with double sofa bed in the lounge or single chair bed in the twin room.

Nearest Airport: Carcassonne at 35 Kilometres
Nearest Beach: beach at 50.0 Kilometres

Siran is one of only a few villages in the area producing Cru Minervois (Minervois La Livinière). Wine lovers will feel at home here but there are plenty of other attractions on offer making it an ideal location for all age groups. The Canal du Midi (UNESCO World Heritage Site), possibly the prettiest canal in France can be accessed at Homps (5 minute drive) and in season you can rent a boat or take a trip on a barge. Also a great place for a stroll or cycle along the tree-lined banks. The coast is less than an hour away but for a local beach with safe bathing then Lac de Jouarres is just a 5 minute drive. There is also a sailing and windsurfing school , life guard in season, snack bar and picnic area. The Cathar village of Minerve (20 mins), dating back as far as the 12th century, offers breathtaking views. The village is perched high above a canyon on top of the gorge carved by the River Cesse. Carcassonne (40 mins) is one of the most impressive walled cities in the world!

  • We have provided top quality memory foam mattresses in the main bedroom and for the twin beds. The sofa bed and chair bed are also very comfortable and are designed for every day use. The twin room comfortably contains two twin beds but please note there is restricted headroom in parts of the room. The beds can easily be accessed without banging your head in the night as there is a clear path to the door which isn't height restricted. The chair bed in the twin room can be used for families with three children but this would require careful access for full sized people! As an alternative there is a double sofa bed in the lounge but occupancy is limited to 6 unless explicitly agreed before hand The King bed is continental size which is larger than a UK King (160cm wide and 200cm long)

Notes: Other facilities include a table and chairs to seat six on the huge sunny terrace (over 50m2). Hairdryer, kettle, coffee maker and an ample supply of cutlery and crockery For those who don't want to cook there is a beautiful restaurant in the hotel (not for every day dining!), and a bar around the corner which offers a simple menu with a dish of the day at lunch time. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars in the surrounding villages some of which are walking distance. The village has a small shop which stocks an amazing range of items and there is boulangerie - both are only 2 minutes walk. The locals really are very welcoming. There is a supermarket 10 minutes drive away in Olonzac which also has a popular market on Tuesdays and Saturdays Please note that the appartment is on the first floor. Parking is available on the street outside the Chateau grounds and we are hoping to negotiate access to a lockable car park immediately opposite the Chateau
