Photos and Description of this Chorafakia holiday house 2 bedroom house to sleep 5 near Chania, Crete.

Our house is attractive, well-equipped and modern, situated a few minutes drive away from golden sandy beaches. It is set beside a very peaceful village and has wonderful mountain views. The pool is just outside the front door, and there are four terraces to chose from on three sides of the house. Car hire is recommended to get the most out of this wonderful area of Western Crete.  The village of Chorafakia has 2 mini-markets, 2 hairdressers and an internet cafe, garage, car rental as well as bus stops and a taxi rank. There are 3 good tavernas close by and 4 of the best beaches in Western Crete. The picturesque old city of Chania is a 15 minute drive away and boasts a Venetian harbour with a large selection of fish restaurants as well as lovely old Turkish streets with a great selection of interesting little shops, restaurants and museums.

Notes: The fridge is an 'American' one with icemaker and filtered water. The kitchen also has a 'pression' coffee pot, toaster and kettle. Iron, two patio tables, etc. There is a vacum cleaner. The pool is shared with the other five surrounding houses. It's a very quiet little community where the other occupants are the owners, and very seldom all in residence at the same. There is a DVD PLAYER and also an iPod docking station with speakers. Driving distance to the beach around 2.8 km. If you stay more then a week clean bed linen and towels will be provided after a week.

This is a great vacation villa. Horafakia is a small village with 2 lovely beaches nearby. The area is traditionally Greek with local tavernas nearby and 2 supermarkets. It is a 'non-tourist' area ie you will not find any 'English' restaurants and amusement arcades! The villa is a ten minute drive from the airport so there is not a long drive involved.The house is open plan with 2 seperate bedrooms and is well equipped with 'american' fridge freezer, dishwasher and aircon as well as a fully equipped kitchen. The villa shares the pool with 4 other villas, it does not have a 'shallow' end, but our two year old was fine - with armbands and supervision! Hania is nearby and is great to visit and wander around.

I would recommend this villa to anyone wanting to stay in a quiet area within easy reach of places to visit and to people who like a very good standard of accommodation that offers more than 'self-catering'.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
