Salina can be reached by ferry and hydrofoil from Sicily, Naples or Reggio Calabria. Milazzo (40 km west of Messina) is the main departure point for the Aeolian Islands. Ferries and hydrofoils leave daily and stop in several islands. It takes 1hr 30 minutes to reach Salina by hydrofoil (with Ustica Lines) and 3hr 40 minutes by ferry. In Salina ferries arrive in the harbours of Rinella or Santa Marina di Salina. Cars and mopeds can be rented here. It is possible to book a transfer with into Sicily from the harbour to the house (25 euro) and then rent a moped in Malfa. Please note that ferries are not always departing in the evening. Therefore we advice guests to book a flight that arrive early in Sicily or the day before the rental starts. The updated timetable is available on the website of the carriers companies.
