Over 200 years old on 3 floors tastefully furnished with character including a stone tread staircase to the 1st floor /oak spiral staircase to the 2nd floor, stone walls,air conditioning ,log fire and 2 sunny terraces . (House not suited to young children under 7). House is locally managed. 3 bedrooms (two with double beds and one with single bed that converts to a double) with ample storage. 1 large bathroom with corner bath & hand shower /double basin. 1 separate wc. Top floor terrace with barbeque/outside table and chairs facing south with views over village rooftops and pic st loup mountain . First floor small terrace. (shady pm) Kitchen and utility areas with aga style gas cooker, fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble drier. Lounge and dining area with large sofa, 2 bucket seats, log fire,dining table for 6, TV and DVD. TV has freeview UK channels, radio and local channels & iPod speaker. (also in top bedroom) Parking is in the road directly outside the house .

St Martin De Londres is a historic village 18miles north of Montpellier in a beautiful countryside setting .The airport and beaches are 35 minute drive away to the south and the Cevennne mountains the same distance to the north. The village has a famous 12th century Romanesque church and has several shops/bars/restaurants within a few metres of the house.On the outskirts of St Martin De Londres are many vineyards which surround the impressive mountain PIc St Loup.There is a bus service to Montpellier/Ganges. There are many attractions nearby including grottes, medieval villages, numerous walks, canoeing in the herault river, vineyard tours and miles of sandy beaches and warm Mediterranean sunshine.Within a hours drive there are also the cities of Nimes, Beziers, Pezenas with provence just a further half hour away to Marseilles, Arles, Avignon and Orange.Other nearby attractions include the Pont du Gard, Canal du Midi ,Sete,Millau Bridge , The Carmague,Mont Aigoual and Roquebrun .

Just back from a great week at this wonderful rental property. We loved the house and the village, it is even lovelier than the pics! The weather was fantastic and we were sorry that we could not spend as much time in the house as it was the perfect location for sightseeing! It would be a really great house in the winter too, snug and cosy with everything you could need for a really comfy stay ..heaters, wood fire, hot water, thick duvets, fluffy towels, large stove, big dining table.. I could go on! The a/c was great especially as temps hit high 30's. All the bars and restaurants in the village had great food and friendly company. The local shop has everything you need and there was also plenty going on in the area from markets and fetes to musical events. The owners and local managers couldn't have been more helpful and informative having thought of everything you could need plus loads of information. The tip about parking and getting the tram into Montpellier was great. I would highly recommend this property, it is very suitable for larger families, plenty of space for 6 people to enjoy the delights of the house, village and surrounding area.

An altogether fantastic location to get away to! The village is in a great location for excursions to the surrounding mountains, Montpellier and the beach. We walked to the top of Pic St Loup (highly recommended for incredible views), went canoeing down L'Herault river (again great for relaxing in French scenery) and took a couple of day trips to the city and beach (only about 20 minutes drive).

The surrounding area is great for adventurers and budding photographers - especially a few vistas north of the town through the windy roads.

The village has a couple of bakeries and small shops, and you can enjoy its tranquility from the two balconies in the house, looking over the Herault valley. The house is great for relaxing in - we had 6 people comfortably seated each night, and the rooms are nice and cool even without the a/c on. Make sure you mind your head coming out of the bathroom though...

We enjoyed a perfect break from a busy time, in January too! Hiring a car we explored the most amazing range of areas and managed to ski for 2 days. Being winter it wasn’t the warmest outside, yet we came home to an easily lit wood burning fire and a well equipped home where we could cook the best of local produce in a kitchen made for domestic bliss. The village is quiet in winter yet the produce available puts all but the top London purveyors to shame.
We could have eaten out yet we chose not to. Local and varied restaurants are sufficient though, quite frankly, we didn’t bother. The cottage is a perfect space upstairs with a huge bathroom and tub. Guestrooms are all very large. Two have outside terraces. The top room has an amazing view over the village rooftops. I insisted on opening the French Windows in the middle of winter so to hear the quiet. All I got was the whiff of wood burning smoke, the odd dong from a bell and a very occasional animal noise. Thick fluffly towels, good linen, great beds and an appropriate range of household appliances made this a good choice.
Saint Martin des Londres is half an hour away from Montpellier airport, its basically a mediaeval village on a hill with a Romanesque church at the top. The house is on three floors and has great character with mainly stone walls and floors. The living room, down a few steps from the kitchen has satellite TV, DVD and ipod docking stations.
I’d highly recommend the house and the village.
