Beaches:
If the Adriatic coast beckons, then some of the best of Abruzzo's beaches are all within an hour's drive and all Blue Flag: Alba Adriatica, Pineto, Silvi, Giulianova, Martinsicuro,Roseto degli Abruzzo.
Skiing:
Prati di Tivo
Open from December to April, Prati di Tivo is the nearest ski resort on the slopes of the Corno Piccolo. Located just above Pietracamela, it is within an hour's drive from Arsita. There are plenty of facilities such as restaurants and cafes and ski hire.
When there is no snow, it is a superb resort for walkers, as many walks up the mountain start from here.
There is a chairlift at Prati di Tivo that takes you up to Arapietra at 2012 metres. From there it is an hours walk to Rifugio Franchetti, which is the highest rifugio on the Gran Sasso at 2433 metres. The refuge is open in June, July, August and September and has 20 beds and a cafe.
How to Get Here:
Pescara Airport is within an hour's drive from Arsita. RyanAir has daily flights direct to Pescara from London Stansted, Brussels and Frankfurt Hann.
Rome is within a comfortable three-hour drive on the autostrada A24 from Arsita. RyanAir has daily flights to Rome's Ciampino Airport from London Stansted, Dublin, Glasgow, Edinburgh, East Midlands, Dusseldorf-Weeze, Frankfurt Hann, Karlsruhe, Liverpool and Stockholm. National airlines fly to Rome's Fiumicino airport.
Ancona is within a two-hour drive to Arsita. RyanAir has daily flights to Ancona from London Stansted.

Other Activities:
Local religious and food festivals - annual 'sagra del coatto' second weekend of August to include food, wine and music street parties.
