Costa Blanca:
The Costa Blanca is not as cold or wet in the winter as the Costa Brava, north of Costa Blanca, nor is it as humid or hot in the summer as the Costa del Sol, in the south. The Costa Blanca has the best all year round temperatures. The climate is recognized as one of the best in the world by the World Health Organisation. Many people with arthritis come to the Costa Blanca and within days feel much better. In the winter months the Costa Blanca is lucky enough to have nearly as many sunny days as in the summertime.
Golf:
There are 3 golf courses close to each other in the Orihuela Costa area of the Costa Blanca, Spain, though Villamartin is the most established and best known of the 3 (the other 2 are Campoamor and Las Ramblas). Villamartin is a championship course and hosted the 1994 Mediterranean Open. The Par 72 course was designed by Paul Pulman and opened in 1972 it has a playing distance of 5,259 metres from the red tee and 6,037 metres from the yellow tee, the green fees start from 56 euros.
General:
The urbanisation of Villamartin has been designed with relaxation in mind. With many green areas, communal swimming pools and sea views. The golf club is right next to the Plaza with its many bars and restaurants, a small supermarket, a bank and shops. There is a car rental office, with reasonable prices. A short drive to La Zenia (10 minutes) will take you to two much larger, well-stocked supermarkets. The MERCADONA and LIDL’s come well recommended for price and value.
We can arrange for your convenience to be collected from either Alicante or Murcia airports and transported to the apartment and returned to the airport at the end of your holiday if required. Charges for this are approximately €55 from Murcia and €70 from Alicante these return fares, are to be paid locally. (Prices subject to change)
