Casa Solana is situated in the village of Chite, a village in the Valley of Lecrin well known by artists and media people as a place for quiet relaxation and artistic retreat, yet well within easy driving distance of Granada, the Costa Tropical and the Alpujarras. This is a spacious village house renovated some twelve years ago in traditional rustic style, whose owner, a leading member of the Chelsea Arts Club, has since enhanced the interior of the house with her own eclectic and stylish brand of murals and trompe l'oeil. The house has a well equipped kitchen with dining and living area, located on the first floor, some luxurious bedrooms (with mosquito nets available for high summer) on both floors, glorious views from the large furnished roof terrace, and a ground floor patio which includes a plunge pool, which can be heated during winter months (on payment of a supplement). The house has a unique ambience, and is suited to use during the winter or summer.

The Lecrin Valley, apart from being a great place to enjoy rural Andalucia and the best scenery, is also superbly located to see a number of prime attractions. The Alhambra, the most famous Moorish castle and palace in the world, is 20 mins drive from us, and the attractions of its city, Granada, are there for you to enjoy - tapas bars, the music, beautiful Carmens of the Albaicin Moorish Quarter, Flamenco clubs in the caves of Sacramonte. Also you have the Costa Tropical with two famous castles - Salobreña and Almuñecar - overlooking beaches and sugar cane fields. Visit Andalucian cities such as Seville – the capital of Andalucia - which is home to the most famous bullring in Spain and the Giralda Cathedral – or Cordoba, home to the famous Mezquita. A half-hour’s drive to the east lies the Alpujarras – a unique mountainous area of ancient hill villages with cube-like whitewashed houses, very similar to Berber settlements found in North Africa. This is an area of famous fiestas.
