  • Catering:
    This property is self-catering only.

    Use of Swimming Pool:
    The pool is normally open between 31st May and 30th September, however this can vary according to the weather or due to essential maintenance. You are advised to check with us that the pool is going to be open during your proposed stay.

    Booking Conditions:
    Upon booking you will need to pay a deposit of 25% by credit card or by cheque. If it is less than eight weeks before your departure date then the FULL BALANCE is due. On receipt of the deposit and booking form, we send you a booking confirmation which establishes our contract with you. You must pay the balance at least eight weeks before departure.
  • Changes:
    Any changes to the booking date made by you will be subject to availability. If the changes are made more than eight weeks before the arrival date, there will be an administration fee of £30 for changing the booking date. After that date, you may be liable for cancellation charges (see cancellation policy below). We reserve the right to cancel a booking and retain the deposit if the balance of the rental payment is not received by the due date:

    Cancellation Policy:
    The following cancellation penalties apply;
    Cancellation less than 3 weeks prior to arrival = penalty 90% of full payment
    Cancellation between 3-6 weeks prior to arrival = 60% of full payment
    Cancellation between 6- 8 weeks prior to arrival = 40% of full payment
    Cancellation less than 8 weeks prior to arrival = Loss of the deposit (25%)
    Cancellation more than 8 weeks prior to arrival = No penalty (any deposits returned)
  • Availability & Inclusions:
    Our prices are per villa/apartment for one week (i.e. a minimum stay of 7 nights). Stays of less than one week are subject to availability and season. There are no set transfer days as these are dependent on airline schedules which are seasonal and variable.
    Stays of greater than 2 weeks may be available especially during low season. Please contact us for availability and pricing.
    The price of your stay includes the cost of gas, electricity, pool use and maintenance, linen and cleaning unless stated otherwise in the price list or in the notes. All additional costs such as heating, firewood, food and other consumable items, additional beds and extra changes of bed linen must be met directly by you, paid for at time of booking, or by subsequent arrangement with Italian Haven.
    All prices and charges are payable in UK £ Sterling and are not subject to additional VAT.

Five star get away in Rural Italy

Lazy days watching the sun cross the unlimited sky. Near the beaches, great shopping centre, close to some fantastic restaurants, mountain villages and great walks. I would like to tell you about each, but the truth is once we arrived, stocked up at the local spar supermarket, we just didn’t want to leave. After waking to the sound of the morning goat run, we sat and eat breakfast on any one of the multiple balconies, terraces or pool side vistas and discussed what we should do that day, trouble is we never ever seemed to get beyond the discussing. Without knowing the mornings slipped into the afternoons, the wine flowed and the pool was just too inviting. The spotting of the odd buzzard or local farm worker or the constantly changing scenery , or the popping of another cork, or the pool again or just about any other excuse we could find, normally convinced us to just stay put, soak up the sun, drink in the air and watch the world go by.

The Villa is located in a small sleepy town of Amato, one shop, one bar, one Pharmacist one Baker. Just about all you ever actually need. It took us 35 minutes from picking up the car at the airport to opening the front door. Every morning we strolled to the bakers and picked up fresh bread, croissants, Pizzas etc.

Ryan air flight, cheap and hassle free. We got a 6:30 flight out and where by the pool by 2pm Italian time. There is a large retailer complex about 10 miles away with a huge carfour but we didn't bother choosing to shop at the local Spar supermarket in the next village. We probably paid slightly more but when good wine is costing 3 or 4 euros a bottle who cares.

The accommodation is five star, well equipped, better than any other Villa we have stayed at. A cooling breeze flows through the building so night times where never too stuffy. The bathroom is luxurious and the main double bed was fantastic, if we could have packed the mattress and smuggled it home we would have been very tempted. The pool is exactly as shown in the pictures, fantastic. There is a washing machine, flat screen TV DVD player and a well equipped kitchen, but we didn't really use any of it electing to live alfresco, eat bread, cheese and local sourced meats fruits etc.

I can not recommend this property highly enough, we had a fantastic holiday, forgot the world and just totally relaxed. We will be confirming our booking for next year. If you are looking for rural Italy like you dream it should be, want the option to choose to e

great escape from rat race

went to amato in june. realy pleasantly surprised with apartment how well presented it was everything you wanted was there .the views were amazing pool just perfect .people very freindly even though my italian was limited .the area very calabrian good fresh food .perfect place to chill ! we shall be returning. the owners could not have been more helpful thankyou

Italian Idyll

We went to this area of Italy looking for peace and tranquility and found it in this well appointed property which has been recently renovated and offers spacious accommodation. A short drive from the airport into the mountains brings you to the rural unspoilt village of Amato and to the property set on the edge of the village with commanding panoramic views.
From the pool area it is possible to see across from the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Ionian Sea and on one occassion we caught sight of Stromboli.
We enjoyed the short walk from the house to the village centre to collect the freshly baked bread and supplies from the village shop. We speak very little Italian but the locals are very helpfull and we managed very well.
There are numerous little villages nestling in the mountains with friendly bars and restaurants all at reasonable prices and a short drive to East or West takes you to the coastal resorts with long beaches a crystal clear waters.
It was nice on occassions just to stay at the property for the day making use of the pool (very refreshing in the summer sun) and wind down in the evening with a bbq meal and some locally produced wine. As night fell and the land below slipped into darkness it was lovely to watch the lights from the houses in the villages come on with no sound other than the insects chiriping and the bells on the goats tinkling.
We had a wonderful relaxing, peaceful time and hope to go back next year.

Beautiful Italian Haven

My husband and I have just returned from what can only be discribed as a week of bliss. We were looking for somewhere quiet, secluded and away from it all. We got that and so much more!
The appartment sits nestled in the mountains with views that you could never tire of-you can honestly see for miles.
The property is very well appointed and incredibly spacious,there is lots of wardrobe and storage space - a treat in an appartment (although this property really doesn't feel like an appartment at all). The pool area is beatiful and very well maintained, with lots of loungers and even a gas bbq.
The kitchen and dining area have amazing views and are beautifully light and airy. The kitchen itself is very well equiped with a large fridge/freezer,microwave, hob and oven and plently of pots pans etc. (really liked outdoor glasses and crockery-what a great idea).
We both loved waking up in the morning to sound of the goats on their way up the mountains and going to bed at night hearing the owls calling across the valley.
We hired a car at the airport from Europacar who were very efficient. We had a great time exploring the coasts (both about 30 mins away) and lots of mountain villages, where we were always met with a friendly smile. The fact that we speak barely any italian and the locals speak hardly any english wasn't a problem at all in fact they seemed to enjoy the challenge as much as we did! This part of Italy has a lovely 'untouched by the tourists' feel to it, and the relitivly low cost of living (compared to other parts of Italy) in this area reflects that.
We both enjoyed every second of our stay and (reluctantly) came home feeling completely relaxed and recharged.
We can't wait to return by ourselves, but now our children have seen the photos I think we will have to return with them first!
