Castel Gandolfo lies to the SE of Rome in the Castelli Romani Park. Perched on the lip of the Lake Albano crater, only 20 km from Rome downtown (30 minute drive), and yet it looks like a small hill-town nestled in the hills of Tuscany or Umbria. Surrounded by a breath-taking natural context and other famous Castels (Frascati, Ariccia,Genzano,...), it is the summer residence of the Pope. Activities include diving, swimming, tennis, walking, sailing, cycling, fishing, horse riding, golf, wind-surfing, water skiing. This large apartment (105 m2, 1300 f2) includes 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, living and dining room (up to 3 more sleeps), eat-in kitchen, and is part of a cozy and elegant style villa (600 m2) built in the middle 20th century, recently restored. It is proposed fully-furnished (i.e. Internet, garden, parking), and is the ideal place for basing a relaxing, sporting, romantic and cultural holiday, close to the lake and few km away from the eternal city and its historical reminder.

There are hourly trains from Castel Gandolfo station (10 minute walking away from the apartment) to Rome downtown and several buses to Rome zones as well. Ciampino airport (serviced by numerous discount-fare airlines) is only 10 minutes away and Fiumicino airport (serviced by most major international airlines) is 30 minutes away. Taxi pick-up to and from the airport can easily be arranged. In summertime the lake beach can be sunbathed and life can be... 'movida'.
