This tranquil and light apartment takes up the whole of the 2nd floor of a large 18th century village house. The house has just been restored retaining its original features and has great charm and character. The sitting room has an working fireplace and dining table, a kitchenette off to the left, both rooms overlooking the square. The double bedroom looks onto the garden, shower room with separate toilet. There are electric radiators for cooler evenings. The village is unspoilt, quiet and has good shops within 3 minutes walk on the flat - good grocer, baker, post office, newspaper/gift shop, café and restaurants including the excellent Auberge du Parc. In the summer the river is the place to be, you can rent a kayak in the village and paddle down stream, swimming in the rock pools as you go. Out of the summer months there are wonderful walks and it is good biking country, bikes can be hired locally.

Correns is an exceptionally quiet village on the river Argens, surrounded by vineyards and hills. The river meanders upstream through the Gorges du Vallon Sourn to Châteauvert where there is excellent rock climbing. Being in the middle of the Var, Correns is perfect for touring Provence: Cotignac, one of the most beautiful villages is just 10 minutes away. Within 20 minutes there are dozen of other villages to choose from - Entrecasteaux with its château, Le Thoronet with the outstanding Cistercian Abbey and Tourtour, the village in the sky. To the south are beautiful beaches between Toulon and Le Lavandou and to the north the lake of St. Croix with the Gorges du Verdon, all within an hour's drive.

Wir (zwei Erwachsene) haben in dieser schönen Ferienwohnung im August 2009 eine Urlaubswoche verbracht. Die Wohnung ist sehr stilvoll eingerichtet und befindet sich im Haus auf dem Hauptplatz des Dorfes Correns. Die Vermieterin ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Sie spricht sehr gut Englisch und hat uns immer sehr viele gute Tipps gegeben. Correns ist ein typisches provenzialisches Dorf, ebenfalls sehr schön und touristisch nicht überlaufen. Obwohl Correns nicht wirklich groß ist, gibt es hier alles, was man braucht: eine Bäckerei, ein Lebensmittelgeschäft, ein paar Cafes, einen Wochenmarkt.. Diese Wohnung ist für einen ruhigen, erholsamen Urlaub zu empfehlen. Von hier aus kann man gut die Gegend erkunden (Grand Canyon du Verdon, Aix-en-Provence, Toulon, Cannes, Grasse). Man muss zwar schon ein bisschen fahren, aber wir fanden das ok. Außerdem in der Nähe von Correns liegen ganz viele andere schöne Städchen.
Wir haben die Zeit hier sehr genossen!
