Quiet, super-comfortable getaway, picturesque

As regular visitors to holiday cottages, we were more than impressed by this cottage: beautifully renovated, extremely well-equipped, spacious, comfortable, and in a quiet village off the beaten track, with a magnificent view over the vineyards and the valley.
The village is well placed (with a car!) for visiting lots of the pretty piemontese villages and towns: the 360° views from the hilltop village of Alice bel Colle are simply amazing, and the mediaeval festival at Cassine was stunning. Vineyard tours are a must - a trip to Barolo and Barbaresco was well worth a couple of hours' driving. We also drove to Asti (massive free car park at the station) and took the train into Torino, which was a revelation for us. The maps and guides in the cottage were really useful.
Shopping for food was an adventure, with the two big supermarkets not too far away but with odd opening hours, odd rules about paying by credit card (you may need your passport), and cash machines that wouldn't accept Visa cards, but we were told that's not unusual in rural Italy.
The restaurants in Sessame and Bistagno were excellent, especially the Casa Carina in Sessame, about 100m from the cottage, owned by a Swiss chef who was very friendly and served delicious food.
Bob and Kerrie were excellent hosts, with nothing too much trouble, and great advice on the places worth a visit.
Arrivederci in Sessame!
