Photos and Description of this Cumbria - Lake District holiday barn 2 Large bedrooms, sleep 4. Spacious lounge diner. Compact kitchen. Ample parking

This was the stable block for the 'home farm' in Victorian days, now split into two units - this one has large master bedroom with double bed and large fitted wardrobe, while the other bedroom has two single beds. Functional bathroom with new white suite. Lounge is very large with the area nearest the kitchen set aside with dining table. SKY movies, entertainment , si-fi TV and DVD player. Kitchen with usual equipment: sink, hob, microwave oven grill, toaster etc..This kitchen has a stable door adjacent to an ornamental pool and fountain with the relaxing sound of running water. All windows face west with view across the yard of main house and beyond you can see the A66 and countryside with hill views. There is car parking for two cars with grass area for you to 'chill'. Access to open countryside with many footpaths and bridleways..but you can walk anywhere as long as you leave the gates as you find them. CAN ACCOMADATE LARGER PARTIES UP TO 6 ..CALL O7841 634536.

The property is accessed down a private roadway (approx 1200 metres long) directly from the main A66 Scotch Corner to Penrith road about 3 miles east of Brough. It is on the west bound carriageway... From Scotch Corner turn left at road end..from Penrith cross the central reservation to the right at the road end..this is directly opposite the road maker to Banks Gate and adjacent to the Brough roadsigns on the grass verge.

The accomodation was easy to find. Access was fine, apart from the beginning part of the road as our car is not suited to country access. Although the property is close to the A66, it was extremely quite, and very relaxing during our stay. The rooms were more than adequate, with everything we needed. We had full access to the surrounding countryside, which is one aspect I didn't expect but appreciated. The location made an ideal base to travel about the lakes. John and Lesley made us feel very welcome, with Lesley even baking us some cakes ( which I enjoyed ). All in all, we had an enjoyable stay. Many thanks John and Lesley.
