Monteverde is a residential district of Rome, very close to Trastevere and the historical center.
Its name means 'Green Mountain'. In fact it is a hill with a lot of green areas. A public garden is at 50 meters and the largest public park of Rome (Villa Pamphilj) is at 300 meters. Gianicolo Park and Villa Sciarra are at about 1 km.
Very easy and fast (10/15 minutes) is to reach Trastevere and historical center through the tram n°8, that has its stop at 100 meters from our apartment. All major tourist sites, museums, and places of interests are very easy to reach.
At 50 meters you can find all kind of shops, one of the largest food market in the city, supermarkets, restaurants, pizzeria, bars, pubs, etc.
Our apartment is in a very quiet part of the district, with low and old buildings (max 4 floors) created around 1950 and populated by roman middle class.
