This property looked great and was great. Located five minutes from Venice Beach, it provided an excellent location for both the beach the breaking waves of the Pacific and as a base for exploring Los Angeles and Southern California. Near enough to the beach to cycle, but just far enough away from the bight lights and hedonism that is Venice Beach.
A short walk to both Marina Del Rey or Downtown Venice and Abbott Kinney provides some excellent resturants and shopping, try Joe's Resturant which was excellent. A short bike ride to Santa Monica Pier and a beautiful costal ride to Malibu along the Pacific Highway to walk in the steps of the rich and famous, and the ghosts of F.Scott Fitzgerald's American Dream, make this an ideal location.
A short car drive away and you can sample the delights of Hollywood, Sunset Bulevard, Rodeo Drive, Universal Studio's, The Getty Museum and even Disney. We also enjoyed the Sony Studio tour in Culver City which was a real expereince of both movie making and American TV land.
We even managed to see the Dodgers play, catch Liza Minnelli at the Hollywood Bowl and a IMAX 3D movie, we really felt we sampled a taste of California Dreamin....which will help keep us warm through the long winter of the UK.
This property is well equipped with all the comforts for a short or long break with excellent hands on support locally if required.
It comortably sleeps six, with enough bathrooms to cope with teenagers!
The owner Jackie is very helpful offering tips to local amenities and sightseeing which helped us to make the most of our stay.
Thanks to Hollywood, we all hold an image of the classic California beach: sparkling white sand, bright sun, gently breaking surf, shapely lifeguards and buff surfers. This location does not disappoint! Come and get it! We shall certainly be returning!
