Les Cigales A wonderful Holiday.

Review Submitted: July 13, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Les Cigales was the high point of a very successful French holiday.
We arrived at Les Cigales and were met by The Proprietor Sue Pasco who showed us around the accommodation, we were impressed by space and feel of the place. This is not your average pokey little flat, this is a large and well designed property that gives you a sense of relaxation. The 2 bedrooms were both big and comfortable the 2 bathrooms gave a real feeling of luxury and the opened planned kitchen, dining seating area was very comfortable indeed.
The facilities were excellent and all worked, which is always a bonus.
Sue Pasco was a very good hostess who was alway available when we needed her, but was not intrusive at any other time.
The town of Capestang is a delight, full of french charm and a real feeling of welcome, the bar on the town square serves the best lamb chops in the world,
We do not usually repeat our holiday experiences, but we do intend to returned to Capestang and Les Cigales in the near future.
This was one of our best ever holidays.

Kevin and Eileen....England.

Tranquillity and Access

Wallyp Woodford Essex UK
Review Submitted: June 21, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2008
A perfect location, well described and spacious, a veritable Tardis beyond the front door. Very clean and well maintained with the owner providing customer service and advice on places to visit. A place I would recommend to anyone who wants easy access to the Canal du Midi and the facilities of the village with supermarkets and restaurants. Vineyards surround the area so wine tasting is often tempting but the beach at Valras is only 25 minutes away using the back roads. This is a place to restore the balance of a hectic life and rejuvenate the spirit. Local markets and drives into the Haute Languedoc provide stunning scenery at Minerve and further afield. There are many places to discover as well as the paragliders soaring on the thermals off nearby hills. The local restaurants provide a variety of meals at reasonable prices. The one run by Madame C within the walled garden has a limited menu but tasty food. Don't get tempted to ask for more chips though! She gets offended if people regard her cuisine as an alternative to a fish and chip shop, however her wine is very drinkable and the ambience on a cooling evening after a hot day is unbeatable.
About an hour from Carcassonne, Montpelier and only 25 minutes from Beziers with all the attractions of a bigger town, and similarly Narbonne with an extensive indoor and outdoor market.
There is nothing to dislike about this place except the rubbish collection disturbing you in the early morning after an over indulgent night before.
The property is not wheel chair friendly with different levels, neither does it have a disabled toilet. However the main bathroom is spacious.
A car is essential to visit the surrounding countryside and sites but a regular bus service operates to nearby towns. The canal provides plenty of opportunity to walk in the shade of the plane trees.
The kitchen is well equipped if you wish to self cater or entertain.
