The garden is half an acre. Not the best lawn but a perfect flat area with a walnut tree one end and another the other end (photo on my website!). It looks like the village green!

La Palmyre is the biggest zoo in Europe and is situated at St Palais, Royan.
Les Antilles de Jonzac is a water park combining sport, games and fitness, beneath a great stretched canvas that is partially open during the summer.
Aquarium de La Rochelle - Located at Port des Minimes. This is one of La rochelle's most popular attractions. Inside you'll find guided walkways that stretch over two floors of massive and bubbling seawater tanks loaded with approximately 10,000 species of flora and fauna from the oceans of the world, living in what look like natural habitats. There is plenty for the kids to see and do, so expect to spend a few hours here.
Surfing on the Côte sauvage (wild coast) north of Royan.

PLACE OF INTEREST::
La Rochelle’s main feature is the Vieux Port which is at the heart of the city, picturesque and lined with seafood restaurants. The city walls are open to an evening promenade. The old town as been well-presented. From the harbour, boating trips can be taken to the île d’Aix and Fort Boyard (home to the internationally famous tv show of the same name).
Rochefort: a military and Protestant city, natural setting of the movie “Les Demoiselles de Rochefort” starring Catherine Deneuve and Gene Kelly and hometown of writer Pierre Loti, whose extravagant house you can visit. Also visit the Corderie Royale (Royal Rope Factory).
Aubeterre (approx. an hour away): In the southern Charente, close to the Perigord, Its charming narrow streets wind through white stone houses and ancient buildings. Built in the shape of an amphitheatre this former stronghold is now classified as one of France's prettiest villages. There is also an underground church.
