In QUIET and SECLUDED wooded grounds, our 19th century tower's beautiful thick walls provide coolness in the summer with sun or shade for lazing around, eating under the pergola or near the barbecue. After a day at the beach or sightseeing nearby, the cicadas'song will enchant you . The tower has its own private entrance and ample parking spaces. Secluded and invisible from the main property occupied by the owners (100 m away) it offers privacy and contact if needed. Indoors, the whitened stone walls offer a feel of 'being away from it all'.In Summer,''Le cabanon' a charming , well equipped annexe with two bedrooms , shower-room and separate toilet adds flexibility. Children will love exploring and playing in the one acre grounds , while teenagers can use the little train five minutes away to reach the beach in 15 mns or Nîmes in 30 mns (3 a day but more coaches from village center) . Our pool is at the disposal of guests if they wish . Who has never dreamt of a tower ?

The Camargue is renowned for its bird life and nature reserves as well as its characteristic bulls,horses and pink flamingoes. Sports and activities include various water sports, horse-riding, golf, tennis, hiking in the close-by Cévennes hills etc. Each village in the area has its week of 'fête votive' (festivities) and as a major wine-growing region visits and tasting in the numerous wine domains are always popular. In the summer, the region is gifted with a large number of art festivals : theater , music , danse and fine Arts of world renown.(Avignon festival in July, Montpellier danse and music festivals in June and July etc...)Aimargues is a very good spot to get to these events easily due to its location

  • The bathroom is a good mix of ancient and modern and again not cramped .The toilet is separate from the bathroom. The shower room in le cabanon is smaller than the one in the tower but contains the essentials .Toilet is separate .

  • The top bedroom takes the top floor entirely so it is very roomy and can accommodate the large double bed and one single bed .Four small roof windows make the stars accompany your dreams !The first floor bed room gives a wonderful feeling of freshness as you experience the two 60cms thick small windows .It has an extra single bed .Altough we are in a tower, it is by no means a 'cramped space 'If a cot is needed, it is added in this room in place of the single bed.Also an umbrella travel cot can be used in case of two toddlers in the same party.In' le cabanon' one bedroom is large enough to fit nicely a large double bed and one single bed and the smaller room two single.It would be perfect for teenagers, but the deco ris as' thought' as in ' La Tour ' to be appreciated by adults staying with or without children. It is very cosy in Autumn or Winter,with the tower 's thick walls , the double glazing ,as well as the wood closed fire place with heat distributed in all rooms .

Notes: The tower has its own 1 acre grounds and it is situated around 100 metres from the owners' house which is a 19 th century ' maison de maître ' (le Domaine de la Robinette ) which used to be a wine producing domaine . It has large outbuildings (cellars etc.. ) parts are now used as an artist's studio .(Your visit is welcomed) . Guests are also invited in Summer to use the owners' pool at their convenience . The Aimargues wine production and other local wines are on sale in the old cooperative building 50 metres away from the tower's own gate. In case of late Autumn or Winter lets the tower has on the ground-floor living-room an insert wood-burning fire-place with heat distributed in all the rooms . In case of a harsher Winter (it does happen sometimes ,even by the Med), some electric heaters can be provided . Autumn and Winter walks or horse riding on the wonderful wild Camargue beaches and marshes are invigorating and the cripsness of the skies is really stunning

Flexibility for 'la tour' and' le cabanon': The cabanon has been added as an extra accomodation to the tower specially during the high season because a lot of families are keen to share their holiday with friends or family.The tower itself is an extremely romantic place and is very suited to honeymoon couples . It is fine too for a family with one two or even three children . Do not hesitate to contact us so we can meet your very own requirements.

Close by...: Aimargues is a typical ' Petite Camargue'village surrounded by open and flat countryside, superb for bicycle rides to the river Vidourle or why not? to the sea .One experiences the unspoilt fauna and flora of the Camargue,near by ..And,just close by there are'villages perchés', on a hill, like Gallargues le Montueux , Aubais,etc ... all really worth a visit.In Aigues-Mortes, the intact walled city of Saint Louis,from where he departed for the Crusades ,do not miss the unusual and grand salt mountains and in the pink waters of the marshes the pink flamingos are stunning.

Despite the fact that our son got chicken pox on day 2 of our holiday, this didn't spoil our experience at 'La Tour'. The place itself is beautiful, reflecting many years of hard work, and very well equipped. We liked being within walking distance of the bakers, playparks, cave cooperative and local restaurant. The surrounding area has much to offer in terms of accessability to beaches, rivers and historic towns. Our toddler loved the freedom of the garden but not as much as he loved Francoise and Terry (his adopted French grandparents!) who couldn't have looked after us better. Many thanks again.

Our first ever holiday in a Tower

This last minute holiday proved to be one of the best we've had. The property was just as described , clean , well-maintained and had everything you could want .
Francoise and Terry spoke French and English which was a bonus to us as our French left a lot to be desired. They were exceptionally friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
Both the pool and the table tennis were a great asset to our teenage son.
We would not hesitate to recommend this property to anybody and are hoping to return there ourselves.
