Photos and Description of this Scottish Highlands & Islands holiday cottage 2 Bedroom cottage with stunning views over Kinloid Moss to Eigg and Rum

This secluded cottage is situated near to the picturesque village of Arisaig and 8 miles from Mallaig where you can get the ferry to Skye. The cottage sits adjacent to the West Highland railway with stunning views over Kinloid Moss to Eigg and Rum, so for the steam train enthusiast this is the place to be as during the summer months the Jacobite passes right by the house. The cottage is securely fenced and we welcome dogs but must be kept under strict control as we are situated within a working croft with livestock. There is also a burn running through the garden which adds to its character. The surrounding area has a abundance of wildlife included deer, buzzards and pine martins. The sunroom in the cottage makes the most of the spectacular views and stunning sunsets. There is a cosy open fire and oil fired central heating for those colder nights. The cottage is reached via a mile long unmade track so is not suitable for very low cars but ideal for 4wd.

Craigmhor Cottage is set adjacent to the West Highland railway line and being a former Linesman's cottage it is naturally close to the railway line which adds to its character. During the summer months the Jacobite steam train passes by. (Harry Potter fame) The cottage is 5 minutes drive away from the pretty village of Arisaig with a well stocked shop, pub, post office, cafes and restaurant. Arisaig also makes a good base for visiting the small isles via boat which leaves daily during the summer. Also close by is Morar with its stunning white sands beaches famous for the filming of the movie 'Local Hero'. 8 miles takes you to the busy fishing port of Mallaig with its numerous shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants, also here you can take the ferry to the Isle of Skye. The nearest large town is Fort William 38 miles away and the cottage is reached from here via the beautiful 'Road to the Isles'.
