Villa Cezanne is a family home, in which we lived for a year whilst our young children attended French school near-by. It has been furnished with the help of a London interior designer for our comfort, but with a view to some select rentals. All is top quality. The colours are largely neutral, enlivened by original art work. All rooms have vaulted ceilings, giving a distinctive and attractive external look, and shuttered doors that lead to the gardens. The rim flowing swimming pool, entered by broad steps across from the veranda, is 1.2m deep throughout so, like all pools in Mauritius, is safe for young children. Villa Cezanne has lovely and well maintained gardens, with lawns, hibiscus, bougainvillea, frangipani, banana, papaya and other fruit trees. The house is stocked with CDs, videos, DVDs and books, which you are welcome to use. There is satellite TV with BBC, Sky and CNN News and good International Sports coverage. We also have Canal Plus from France.

Tamarina is a relaxed, high quality private community of 119 individual villas designed by Mico Giraud. Our home cannot be seen from the golf course, which is dominated by views across wide open savannah to the Matterhorn like Mont Rempart. The highly regarded golf course is an enjoyable test with wide fairways and tight greens. There is a good practice ground. 3 minutes away from our villa is the attractive private Beach Club, with a pool and excellent restaurant, which sits, shaded by trees, on a small rocky headland at the northern end of the safe Tamarin Bay. This surf beach has smooth, coral free sand. We are near the village of Tamarin, 25 km south of the capital Port-Louis and 50 minutes drive from the airport. Rainfall is the lowest on the island. There is almost always a breeze. The location is peaceful, but not far from supermarkets, shops, hotels, restaurants and a snorkelling beach, which can all be quickly reached by car or by walking across the beaches.

The 4th bedroom has been used as our children's playroom and contains two sofa beds, TV, DVD, games, books and a whiteboard.

Notes: The veranda is an outside living room, with full lighting, comfortable seating and a dining table for 10. There is another round dining table for 10 on the pool terrace. There is ample outside sunbathing seating, with chaise longues and teak steamer chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with good quality appliances, mixers, coffee machine, toaster, crockery, cutlery and glassware etc. Basic maid service is included in the price. Additional Maid service is available a la carte, as is the provision of butler service. A golf cart is available for your use. Golf green fees are at member's guest rates. 2 adult and 2 young children's' bicycles are available, as are boogie boards for surfing on the beach.

Rights to play golf and visit Beach Club: Provided you are properly introduced in advance by us, you will have full access to the golf and beach clubs. There is no charge to use the beach club facilities of pool and changing rooms. The restaurant is four star, with lovely views over the sea and beach below. There is a good bar. The golf club charges even members each time they play and for the use of their own carts. You will qualify as member's guests for four rounds per person and thereafter at favourable rates.

Golf: Tamarina Golf Club opened in 2006. The course architect was Rodney Wright, who has designed many courses in the Far East and Hawaii. It is a good challenge, with a blend of strategic birdie opportunity holes and longer par 4s. Tamarina was the first of the new wave of quality golf courses in Mauritius, and attracted 150 local members, so the membership is a nice mix of long time Mauritian citizens and villa owners. The course also allows visitors from near-by hotels. It is a child friendly club, and there are often good teaching packages available for children. There is state of the art video analysis available from the professionals.

We stayed at Villa Cezanne in spring 2009. The villa is stunning in a secluded part of one of the best golf resorts on the island and onle 5 minutes from a beautifully quiet,sandy and gentle beach.
The Villa has absolutely everything you need including bicycles and a golf buggy that became our preferred methods of transport depending on whether we were off to play golf on the wonderful course or popping down to the beach.
The Accomodation and fit out of the villa has left nothing to be desired and everything is of the highest standard. The garden is a Haven and we often spent the day there reading and swimming in the most peaceful setting.

We could not have had a better stay. There are plenty of restaurants and bars and good shops within 5/10 minutes but the golf resort has its own bars and restaurants that can cater for most of your requirements.

A perfect stay that we would be happy to repeat.
