Photos and Description of this Durban-Corbieres holiday villa 2 bedroom villa to sleep 4, 10 minutes walk from village.

The villa is one in a small development of traditional 'bergerie' style houses built on a hillside. It is on the top level of the development and makes the most of the stunning view over the village with its ruined, medieval castle and across to the distant hills. The open plan living room has large French doors which open onto the south facing pool area. Television, (free-to-air French and English channels), DVD player, iPod dock. Bedroom 1 also has French doors to the pool area, double bed and ensuite shower room (shower, washbasin, WC.) Bedroom 2 has vineyard views, twin beds and ensuite bathroom (bath, washbasin, washing machine) Separate w.c. adjacent to bedroom 2. Well equipped kitchen with multi-function cooker, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave. Mezzanine room with balcony overlooking living area, separate seating area, shelves with books, games, puzzles and DVD library. Small front garden with olive tree and local 'garrigue' plants.

Nearest Train: Narbonne at 30 Kilometres
Nearest Motorway: Sigean at 20 Kilometres
Nearest Beach: beach at 25.0 Kilometres

Durban is in the middle of the Corbieres wine region, with Fitou and Minervois close by. It is situated on the 'Sentier Cathare', a well-known walking trail, dominated by the romantic, ruined castles of the Cathar sect. The blue flag beaches of La Franqui and Leucate are about 30 minutes away. There are ancient monasteries at Lagrasse and Fontfroide. The historic walled city of Carcassonne is less than an hour away to the north, and the Catalan city of Perpignan is a similar diatance to the south. Barcelona is about 2 hours away, as are the ski resorts of the Pyrenees. The Canal du Midi meandes through the countryside to the north. The African Reserve at Sigean, an extensive wildlife park, is 30 minutes away. Durban itself has a supermarket (with petrol), bakery, pharmacy, newsagent, bank and post office. The village has one bar and restaurant, with a number of others in nearby villages, including a Michelin starred restaurant at Fontjoncouse, just a few kilometres away.
