Pottery and textiles workshops:
I moved to Puglia permanently in 2007 to work full time as an artist. Puglia provided me with the inspiration, time and space I longed for. The bright and airy workshop offers respite from the Puglian heat – or shelter in inclement weather.
Enthusiasts and ‘first timers’ are equally welcome to enjoy and create. From learning to throw to sculpting in clay, I provide both the technical expertise needed and a glass or two of prosecco when you’re finished!
Many past students have found a 2/3 hour morning session enough to produce a variety of pieces each, whilst others found it only served to whet their appetite and returned for more.
The pottery has 3 wheels for throwing (2 powered, 1 kick), 2 kilns and plenty of workshop space for hand-building. Groups of up to 4 are ideal. You may then book a glazing session or I will glaze to your choice and fire your finished work.
If possible, schedule your pottery session early on in your visit to Puglia, to allow time for drying and firing

About Puglia:
Many northern Italians have been heard to joke that Italy stops at Rome – and perhaps their Italy does, for undoubtedly our Italy here in Puglia is very, very different.
Back in 1935 the writer and philosopher Carlo Levi was actually exiled here for his politic activities, banished from his native Turin, not to another country…but to the wild south!
Puglia today still has its untamed side – which is one of the reasons it is so fantastic.
Italians love the sea and the sun-baked beaches. Most importantly, here they are still unspoiled whether wind-eroded cliffs or sandy bays; the coastline is so diverse you can always find just what suits you. A drive down the east coast will be rewarded by a long stretch of Ionian soft sand, reputed to be the most acclaimed in the whole country.
Beach barbeques are not a thing of the past here......spend a balmy evening enjoying the freedom to swim in the sea and cook your dinner simultaneously!
Other Activities:
Daily local markets (antiques, food, fashion, fabric). Night life is to be found humming in the cities of Ostuni and Lecce
