I stayed at Franklyn Cottage the last week of August with my family. The location is very quiet but that was what I had wanted however it was only 5 minutes away from the main road. The description given in the details was accurate and everything was as hoped for. It is a chocolate box cottage! Everything was there that we needed and we received a friendly welcome from the owners, a tour and guidance on how to use the equipment. The owners welcomed up even with the ready supplies from the garden (apples and vegetables). The beds were comfy, kitchen well equipped, TV, games, some books, and the garden had a table tennis table and a trampoline. I would not hesitate to recommend the cottage, although would say that because of the layout with the bedrooms it probably isn't ideal for very young children. Mine are teenagers and it wasn't a problem. Locally, Sandwich is very pretty and you can walk down to the bay. Broadstairs had a good beach, towards the far end which we accessed via cliff top steps. If you are minded, 'Go Ape' at Leeds Castle (about an hour away) was great fun so long as you don't mind heights. This part of Kent has lots of tourist attractions and plenty to keep us busy.
