This small but light and airy apartment is in the historic sestiero of Castello, full of history and activity. All of Venice is within easy walking distance and nearby are local shopping streets with butchers, fruit and veg stalls, bars, cafes, grocery stores, museums and cinema. The Arsenale and Biennale are close by and St. Mark's square is a 15-20 minute walk away. This is an area where most tourists do not go and is rich in local life. The vaporetto boat stops are close by for travelling to the airport and main bus and train station for Venice. There is a double bedroom which can be made up into 2 singles or a large double bed. There are 3 windows that look out onto the courtyard which is and full of plants and a fountain.There are 2 in the back.The shower room is small, but newly fitted. The kitchen is also new and has a 2 ring hob and microwave. The living area has a comfy sofa and table and chairs with view to the courtyard. It is lively during the day, but quiet at night

Nearest Train: Santa Lucia Ferovia at 3 Miles
Nearest Motorway: mainland at 5 Miles
Nearest Beach: beach at 1 Miles
Car: not necessary
Please ring the agent when you arrive at the airport. Then, an inexpensive bus ride to Piazzale Roma (takes about 20 minutes) and take no. 52 vaproetto to Celestia (closer, but stops at 8:30 PM) or Fondamente Nuove (runs to 11PM). Alternatively, Alilaguna or water taxi directly to Fondamente Nuove (more costly, but much easier) . You will be met at these stops and escorted to the apartment. **A charge of 30 euros for arrivals after 8PM.**

nice small quiet first floor apartment in Castello

Small but with everything you need, ideal for two people. Nice view of the charming courtyard out of the bedroom and living room windows, kitchen and bathroom also have windows on the back which is good for air circulation on a hot night. Church bells wake you at 7 every morning. Very clean and well-maintained, smart bathroom, and a comfortable bed. Only quibble, you have to pay an extra 30 euros if you arrive after 8pm, which is not mentioned until you book.
Very handy location for the Biennale, on foot or by boat, a short walk to the vaporetto stop at Celestia or slightly further to Arsenale / San Zaccaria, and to restaurants in Castello or Canareggio districts. Good local shops.
