Its location means you have access to multiple Ramblas and quiet country Lanes where you can walk for hours and hardly see anyone (except the odd Goat!).
The weather is naturally cooler in winter time, but can still get quite hot when the suns out and its not uncommon to be sitting outside on Christmas Day eating your dinner.
January is a lovely time to visit the area as the Almond trees come into blossom and the surrounding hills are covered in (what looks like) little white fluffy clouds. Also, January is when the annual Bread Festival is held - a definite must see !

AquaVera - Fantastic water park with multiple Water slides and Pools.
Garrucha - Large sandy beach, numerous seafood restaurants and very Spanish !.
Go-Kart - Also at Garrucha. Great fun for all ages !.
Sorbas - A lovely town situated on the edge of a canyon with some nice pottery shops and bars.
Sorbas Caves - Just outside Sorbas. Cave tours are available for this very large underground cave. Great if you like potholing.
Agua Amarga - An unspoilt hidden away fishing town with good restaurants and bars. Situated in the Cabo de Gata nature reserve. The beach here is the best on the whole coastline and offers perfect snorkelling conditions with warmer than average water temperatures.

There really is no need to ever leave the area. However, if you prefer to shop at the bigger main stream supermarkets you can get to Vera in around 40 minutes where you will find 3 big Supermarkets.
