Maccagno is a quaint, unspoilt town on the north east shores of Lake Maggiore, just 6km from Switzerland. It is one of the most beautiful locations on the lake with a large natural beach and far reaching views of the Borromean Gulf and the Canton Ticino. As well as watersports, including a sailing school, Maccagno makes an ideal base for walkers, cyclists and intrepid explorers - the Maggiore Ferry services departs Maccagno daily to various locations on the lake. For culture lovers there is the Museum of Modern Art. The ski resorts of Alpe Forcora and Alpe Neggia are 30 mins away, and the bustling Swiss town of Locarno, with it's Summer Film festival is a short ferry hop away. Just 70km from Milan, and with easy access to Lugano, Malpensa and Milan Bergamo airports Maccagno is an ideal year-round base for an Italian vacation.
