This beautiful apartment is in the award winning Golfo Gabello development on the lakes edge. Golfo Gabella won the prestigious Homes Overseas award in 2008 for best apartments in Italy.The large terrace has far reaching views across the Lake towards the Borromean Gulf. It features 1 double bedroom with built-in wardrobes, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, 1 bathroom with shower, spacious kitchen/dining area with seating for 6 and lounge with lake views, flat screen TV, DVD player and large sofa bed which can sleep 2. The apartment is on the second floor, and can be reached by stairs or lift. Outside is a stunning swimming pool which overlooks the lake (May-October). A children's pool and hot tub are featured, as well as a beautiful contemporary bar and restaurant. Maccagno is a quaint, unspoilt town on the north east shores of Lake Maggiore, just 6km from Switzerland. It is one of the most beautiful locations on the lake with a large natural beach and far reaching views of the Borromean Gulf and the Canton Ticino. As well as watersports, including a sailing school, Maccagno makes an ideal base for walkers, cyclists and intrepid explorers - the Maggiore Ferry services departs Maccagno daily to various locations on the lake. For culture lovers there is the Museum of Modern Art. The ski resorts of Alpe Forcora and Alpe Neggia are 30 mins away, and the bustling Swiss town of Locarno, with it's Summer Film festival is a short ferry hop away. Just 70km from Milan, and with easy access to Lugano, Malpensa and Milan Bergamo airports Maccagno is an ideal year-round base for an Italian vacation.

Family Fun, or a Romantic getaway: Our apartment at Golfo Gabella offers the perfect family holiday. Maccagno is a quiet town, but offers the best beach on Lake Maggiore with crystal clear waters and a host of activities for children (skateboard park, volleyball, canoing, pedaloes, wind surfing). The large pool is around 1m 25cm deep, and a small childrens pool is also adjacent. The pools are elevated, providing safety and a handy barrier between the pool and the lake. Lunch can be taken at the stunning Acquadulza restaurant situated at the resort. It offers a 2 course lunch with drink for just 12 Euros. In the evening unwind at the bar next door and watch the sunset with over a glass of prosecco and a plate from the buffet (just 8 Euros for both!). Golfo Gabella also hosts the sailing school, which offers tuition to both adults and children. We think you'll like this little corner of heaven. The views will take your breath away, and, we hope, leave you wanting to come back for more.
