The Monopoli Old Town Experience

This is a lovely apartment in the heart of the old town. You get the full Puglia old town experience when staying here. There are lots of great restaurants all within a 5 minute walk. If you're looking for peace & quiet then perhaps this isn't the place for you. If you're looking to experience living in the heart of the old town and also have a beautiful big roof terrace to relax on then look no further. The sea views are great. Monopoli itself is quite a nice town. The old part is reasonably quiet in comparison to the bustling new town which surrounds it. Access to Monopoli by train to/from Bari & Brindisi/Lecce is also very good. So having a car isn't essential.

Stilvolles Altstadt-Apartment

Die Ferienwohnung liegt am meerseitigen Rand der historischen Altstadt in einem alten, gut restaurierten Gebäude (Teil eines ehemaligen Klosters). Die Ausstattung und stilvolle Möblierung ließen kaum Wünsche offen. Nur auf der großen Dachterrasse mit ihrem sehr schönen Blick aufs Meer hätten wir uns noch zusätzlichen Sonnenschutz gewünscht. So war es oben manchmal schon zum Frühstücken zu heiß. Ansonsten gab es nichts zu bemängeln. Alles war sehr sauber und gepflegt, ein schönes Ambiente, ideal für 2 Personen. Nachts war es trotz der Lage in der quirligen Altstadt erstaunlich ruhig. Bei An- und Abreise war die Zufahrt zum Apartment möglich, ansonsten konnte problemlos bei den nahe-gelegenen Wohnblocks (5 Gehminuten) geparkt werden Die Vermieterin, Signora Rosa, spricht gut Englisch. Wir fühlten uns von ihr sehr gut betreut und bekamen auf Wunsch auch gute Informationen.
Die historische Altstadt von Monopoli bietet noch sehr viel ursprüngliches Leben. Sehenswerte Baudenkmale (Kirchen u. Profanbauten) viele Restaurants, der große Fischereihafen, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten etc. sind in 5-10 Min. zu Fuß erreichbar. Monopoli ist auch ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in die nähere und weitere Umgebung. Südlich der Stadt gibt es in der Felsenküste ein paar schöne kleine Badebuchten mit Sand-strand.
Wir haben den Aufenthalt hier sehr genossen.
