This comfortable town house features a sun room with panoramic views of the village, valley and coast from the highest residential point in Canillas. A separate living room leads to the dining area and kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery. There is satellite TV (UK freeview), a DVD/CD player and radio plus a selection of DVDs, CDs, cassettes, books and local guides. Outside there is a spacious terrace and garden with barbecue, table and chairs. Upstairs the south-facing balcony offers breathtaking views down the valley to the coast. There is a standard size double bed in one bedroom and two single beds in the other. Both have ceiling fans, ample storage and views to the historic Santa Ana chapel. The fully tiled bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC, bidet and washbasin. A utility room contains a washing machine, gas fired water heater, clothes horse, laundry basket, iron and ironing board.

This lovely town house is situated in the highest part of Canillas de Albaida, a traditional Andalusian village in the foothills of the Sierra Almijara mountain range. With the border of the Sierra de Tejeda National Park just up the road, the property provides an ideal base for walkers. There are stunning views of the valley and coast from the front balcony and a panoramic mountain vista from the historic Santa Ana chapel to the rear. Casita Andaluza provides a high standard of accommodation in true Spanish style and is equipped to make your stay as comfortable, convenient and enjoyable as possible. There is a choice of cafe/restaurants and small supermarkets in Canillas itself, and even more in Competa which is just 5 minutes away by car or about 25 minutes through the olive groves on foot. A small, traditionally Spanish village, Canillas boasts its own pharmacy, medical practice, bank, swimming pool and even an internet/email facility.

Coast and beach: There are excellent beaches at Torrox and Nerja, both about 35 minutes drive away down the winding road to the coast. At Torrox Costa there's a long sandy beach with numerous cafe/restaurants lining the promenade offering good food at very affordable prices. At Nerja, the superb caves are well worth a visit and the town boasts many shops and eating places.

Travel and accessibility: The house is located at the top of the village, so going down is easy but the walk back up can be quite strenuous! Malaga Airport is about 1 hour 15 minutes away. Car hire is recommended and we've always found that bookings via the internet through Carjet are reliable and good value. There is ample space to park your car opposite Casita Andaluza or a few paces up the hill. There is a reliable, air-conditioned bus service from Canillas to Malaga, via the coast, 3 times a day.

Local amenities: There are 3 small supermarkets in Canillas, plus a bank, chemist, doctor, hardware store, internet point and swimming pool. There are several cafe/bar/restaurants in Canillas serving good food at attractive prices and more in Competa. A tennis court is located at the Hotel Balcon in Competa and their swimming pool is available to non-residents at a reasonable charge. Competa is a 5 minute drive or 25 minute stroll away.

Ski: Skiing in the Sierra Nevada mountain range is a 90 minute (approx) drive away.

Golf: The championship Baviera Golf course is a 45 minute (approx) drive away.

We had a great time in this comfortable, clean property with magnificent views, nestling in the Andalucian hills. Ideal for walking, a friendly village with good restaurants at reasonable prices. A lovely place if you want to get away from it all but not too far from the towns and beaches.
