Photos and Description of this Cortes de la Frontera holiday house 3 Bedrooms, on a quiet residential street in the old part of town

We have just finished renovating La Casa Azul with great success! We´ve kept the feeling of the old, while also embracing the new. Entry is via the living room through which you pass into the spacious rustic kitchen/diner with a wood burning stove. Stepping up the mosaic staircase to the first floor are the bedrooms, flooded with light from the french windows that open out onto the balcony. Past the main modern bathroom and up to the next floor, are the two roof terraces and utility room. On the roof you will find more of Carmen´s mosaics, a shady terrace and a comfortable cane sofa and chairs to relax in and enjoy the views amongst the geraniums and lemon tree. The other patio has two sunbeds, for those who love the sun!!!

Nearest Train: Estacion de Cortes at 4 Kilometres
Car: recommended
Cortes is situated on the edge of the Alcornocales national park, famous for its cork forest and natural beauty. The village itself has a large selection of bars and restaurants ( 25 at last count !!!) where you can sample the local cuisine or relax with a drink. The house is a 5 minute walk from the large public swimming pool (open end of July - mid september) It is a short drive to visit the prehistoric Cuevas de la Piletas or the Cuevas del Gato, where you can swim and picnic. Ronda , our main town and tourist attraction, is 30 mins drive away or you can take the train from Cortes Estacion which runs direct to Algerciras (1hr) or Granada (3hrs). The nearest beach is Sabinillas ( 1 hours drive ). Tarifa and the Costa de la Luz is 1 and a half hrs away. Day trips to Tangiers, Morroco are also possible. The area is a bird watcher and hikers paradise ! (especially in Spring and Autumn)
