Photos and Description of this Fonroque holiday farmhouse Extensive peaceful place for any age group or just a couple

Garrigue is surrounded by varied working farms - cattle, poplars; sunflowers, maize, vines etc. It is 20k south of Bergerac, 6k north of Eymet, 4k west of Fonroque village and has good road access. It was a farm whose origins we traced back to the 17th century before we lost the line. Garrigue has comfortable spacious gite accommodation for short or long stays, an extensive property suitable for any age - with a ground floor bedroom and bathroom a couple on their own whether old or young may be just as happy here as a bigger group with or without children. There is pingpong, an old pool table in the barn and some bicycles. We have 3 hectare grounds with a woodland walk, pond and informal pitch & put golf course for our giters. We have 1 marmalade cat, 2 sociable dogs, 3 curious dwarf goats, 4 chatty hens. Look out for nightingales, hoopoes, swallows and kestrels, dark red squirrels, deer, lizards, swallow-tail butterflies, rhino beetles and glow-worms, shooting stars .......

AQUITAINE is the region covering South-West France with its sandy Atlantic surfing beaches and glamorous resorts such as Biarritz, to the spectacular mountains of the Pyrenees and inland to the incomparable beauty of Dordogne - called the Cradle of Mankind because of the many caves lived in by prehistoric man which you may still visit today and wonder at the paintings they made to illustrate their lives. DORDOGNE is divided into 4 regions known by colours and its pre-Napoleonic name of Périgord - White for the area's white stones, Black for the famous truffles of global gastronomic fame, Green because there are so many forests and the Purple Perigord where we live because of the grapes in the much-acclaimed Bergerac vineyards. BERGERAC, a vibrant medieval town with a thriving low cost airlines airport, straddles the Dordogne river, used for hundreds of years to transport the local wines down to the great wine city of Bordeaux - how about a river trip on one of those boats?
