Notes: PRIVATE COURTYARD GARDEN: a special feature of Heritage Mews is its beautifully maintained courtyard garden - planted for colour and interest in all seasons. In summer, there is a profusion of colour with geraniums, cosmos daisies and busy lizzies. Step outside from the sitting room and dine or relax outside in seclusion; in the evening solar lights add atmosphere. With sun from morning until late afternoon, it has been described by a guest as 'an oasis of calm beauty in the sun'. A small tree provides shade if needed. In spring daffodils, primroses and hellebores are in bloom. In autumn and winter there are colourful pots of pansies and violas with clipped box trees and evergreens. Whatever time of year you visit, the garden is a delight to look out onto. BROADBAND INTERNET ACCESS / Wi-Fi: unlimited free broadband internet access is available (wireless or cable connection). This is password protected (with WPA encrytion) for security. PAYPHONE with free line to owners.

COT & BABY EQUIPMENT: A beechwood 'Mamas & Papas' cot with cot linen (quality cotton sheets and blankets) can be added to the single bedroom on request, for an additional charge of GBP 25 per week or short break. Other baby equipment, including a stairgate, high chair/booster seat and bath tub are also available on request; there is no additional charge for these. We have aimed to provide all the 'difficult to carry' equipment you might need if you are travelling by air with your baby or toddler. Or just make life easier if you are travelling by car. Please let us know when you book what you might need.

PRIVATE OFF-ROAD PARKING FOR TWO CARS: Heritage Mews has two private off-road parking spaces - a real benefit in Stratford-upon-Avon where parking on the narrow streets is restricted and often in high demand. One parking space is through the gate at the end of the garden - convenient for unloading your car. The second space is in an adjacent courtyard. Enjoy the convenience of parking your car (or cars) safely within the private mews and explore this beautiful historic town on foot. All the sites and attractions are a short stroll away.

CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR: Christmas in Stratford-upon-Avon is a magical experience. The Christmas lights throughout the town centre (from the last Thursday in November) are regarded as amongst the finest in the UK and provide a spectacular back-drop to Christmas Markets, late night shopping and a variety of festive events. We are offering flexible short breaks before Christmas and weekly breaks over Christmas and New Year. For more information and photos, please visit our website Christmas page.

Other Activities: Royal Shakespeare Company theatre; sightseeing river cruises; motor & rowing boat hire; scenic flights; hot air ballooning; gliding; horse-racing.

New Year stay at Heritage Mews

Scudo Essex
Review Submitted: January 23, 2010 Date of Stay: December 2009
We really enjoyed our stay at Heritage Mews over New Year. The cottage is very well appointed, spotlessly clean and attractively furnished. The courtyard garden is pretty to look out on, even in winter, with evergreen shrubs and berries to entice the birds!

Situated in Stratford Old Town the cottage is near all the shops and restaurants, yet is very peaceful. It is also within close walking distance of Holy Trinity Church, the Shakespeare properties, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the River Avon.

The owners were very welcoming and provided us with a tray of goodies on arrival.

We had several excellent meals in Edward Moon's restaurant, plus warming soups in the Courtyard Theatre cafe and the cafe attached to Hall's Croft. Staying in the cottage meant we were near to the Lucy's Mill end of the river and we enjoyed walking along the riverbank down to the town.

We have stayed in Stratford many times and this is the best place we have stayed in and would recommend it to anyone.

Heritage Mews - Stratford

Larsey Wallington, Surrey
Review Submitted: December 31, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2009
Heritage Mews is a beautiful cottage, in the heart of Stratford - Upon - Avon. We were given a very warm welcome by the owner and some lovely provisions were waiting for us and our 2 young children. The cottage was well-equipped and the central heating was extremely efficient which was great as it was snowing when we arrived. The property was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. The position of the cottage was within easy walking distance of Stratford's famous sights and we enjoyed some lovely walks along the river. We ate out in
Stratford several times, enjoying meals at Vintners and The Oppo, both in Sheep Street. Our children enjoyed visiting Warwick Castle and we also went on a steam train ride from Toddington to see Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. Altogether a wonderful and relaxing Christmas week. Thank you. A lovely place to celebrate our 30th Anniversary

TonyMo Winchester, UK
Review Submitted: December 10, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2009
A lovely, cosy house within walking distance of the town centre and river attractions. Great for any time of the year.

The house was immaculately presented, very comfortable, and just about everything you could think of was provided. The kitchen was probably the best equipped we've ever found!

The lounge furnishings were very comfortable and a king size bed is great!

There was a delightful paved small garden which we would have enjoyed in warmer, dryer weather.

We enjoyed walking along the river to town, visiting the Shakespeare attractions, and also driving down to pretty Cotswold villages.

The owner Val was there to meet us on arrival, very friendly and explained everything we needed to know very clearly.

We would certainly choose this property again if we were to return to Stratford.

Excellent, spotlessly clean, comfortable cottage

S A March, Cambridgeshire
Review Submitted: November 19, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2009
We thought the cottage was wonderful, it was so nice to stay somewhere with immaculately clean carpets to put the baby on. Lots of lovely extras provided including bath ducks! Cot/linen for baby was lovely. Great location, only about 10 mins walk from town but in a very quiet area. We didn't need to use the car at all! I have already recommended this cottage to a friend and hope to return next year.

Five Star Experience

T and I Carlisle, Cumbria, UK
Review Submitted: August 6, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Heritage Mews is a lovely, comfortable, well appointed, immaculate cottage within easy walking distance of the centre of Stratford upon Avon. This cottage is spotless with lovely personal touches, a secluded garden and ample parking. The Shakespeare Centre, good shopping and excellent restaurants and pubs are within a ten minute walk, or you can saunter into town via fine river walks.

Holy Trinity Church with Shakespeare's grave and Nash's House just five minutes away. Don't miss the Butterfly Centre which is just over the bridge from the centre of town.

We had a tour of the RSC Courtyard Theatre which was very interesting and informative. However it is advisable to book early for any RSC production as best seats go fast.

Heritage Mews thoroughly deserves it's Five Star Visit Britain rating, and we look forward to visiting again in the future.
