Snezka - Schneekoppe - Snowmountain:
The picturesque mountain town Pec pod Snezkou (750 m) is the best start point to highest peak Snezka (1602 m). You can hike up or use the seat lift reaching the summit within half an hour. The other possibility is to take the seat lift from Velka Upa to Portasky hut and then 4 km of walking with nice views around. From Snezka you can go along the marked lines over the mountain ridges to Meadows Hut, Výrovka, Spindlerßv mlyn or Pec.

There are many other possibilities in the surrounding: Golf place in Mlade Buky – 15 km, Safari Park in Dvur Kralove – 40 km, sandstone town consist of hundreds fantastic towers in Adrspach – 40 km, the town Vrchlabí with possibility of sightseeing flights and beautiful exhibition about this region called “Stone and Life” – 30 km, many other chateaus, castles, fortifications. Bowling – 400 m, tennis place (1 km), a lot of mountain bike roads. There is also a bus going over the whole area taking mountain bike.
Ski:
The ski centre in Velka Upa is only 300 m far from pension reached on the ski. There is a seat lift with 1500 m long downhill and other 3 ski lifts. All the area is equipped with technical snow, possibility of night skiing, ski rental and ski school. You can easily reach by the ski bus (free of charge) the main ski centre in Pec with 11 downhill, one 4-seatlift, Snowboard Park, night skiing. The last near ski centre is in ßerná hora where the longest downhill (3.5 km) in the Giant Mountains is. There are 2 seat lifts and 5 other ski lifts. The pension is an ideal start point for cross-country skiing over many kilometres of the maintained tracks.
