The wider estate extends to some 3,000 acres. Catering and butler service Catering at Ellemford is entirely flexible. The house can either be taken on a self-catered, partly catered or fully catered basis. A homemade meal and wine delivery service is also available. A picnic hamper delivery service is available for fishing parties. A butler service is also available. Housekeeping Daily housekeeping is included in the rental price. The housekeeper is also available for additional cleaning or linen changes throughout guest's stay at additional cost. Children's facilities A travel cot and high chair are available on request.

Fishing: The River Whiteadder runs through the estate and fishing is available to guests at additional cost. It is well documented that the Whiteadder was once the most prolific of the Tweed tributaries, well ahead of the Teviot. Over the past few years, major improvement works to the river in addition to the buying out of netting stations on Tweed and greater restraints on the drift nets have greatly improved the salmon stocks entering the estuary and it is very likely the Whiteadder will return to its former glory. Perhaps the most important improvement to the Whiteadder has been the installation of two fish passes at New Mills Weir and Edington Mill which have greatly facilitated the passage of fish upstream. Fish are now able to run the river throughout the summer rather than relying on high water levels to see them over the weir.

Shooting: Fully catered shooting parties are the estate's specialty and it is well known for its high driven pheasants. With over 20 different drives, Ellemford can provide excellent sport over one or two days. Bag sizes can also be arranged with the estate to your own requirements. Ellemford also has a healthy population or roe deer scattered across the estate in a variety of different habitats providing ample opportunity for stalking accompanied by the estate's keeper.

Golf: Northumberland and the Scottish Borders are a golfer’s paradise boasting over 100 courses from challenging PGA Championship courses, to picturesque links and parkland courses to suit all standards. We can offer discounted green fees at a number of courses within an hour’s drive of our houses. Please contact us for further information.
